Dont know about Rusty, Jamskee. Hes a tough bugger and seems to be more aggressive than skillful.
I,d like to see him in theforwards.

Kevin Locke is destined for greatness, despite his size.
Leeson Ah Mau will play for the Kiwis soon.Upu Poching wont be far away either.
Dan O'reagan is very good and so is a name you will all be raving about soon, Nafi Seluini (sp)

others inc
Scotty Jones
Paddy Ah Van's brother, Thomas, is a better wing than his bro.
Alehana Mara
Billy Tupou

Scotty has gone to the Roosters mate - Newtown State Cup side.

Kevin Locke is going to be a star despite his size.
But I think Daniel O'Regan is the one who will rise up there is something about him. He will be one of those guys that maybe won't rise up this year or even next but by the time he's 23/4 will be a leader, warriors need to keep him.

Yeah I would love to see bristow get a chance at 2nd row

As a young teen, Rusty was an absolutely awesome player. When he got
to about 16 - 17 he piled on the beef and really, he's never quite been
the same since.

Hopefully he will kick on in the professional environment he is now in.

He is very highly rated by greater judges of horse flesh than I.

That's interesting RE: Scott Jones. He'd been around the club for a while, I thought they had big wraps on him. The problem with the U20s is that if you're 19, going on 20, and then get a season ravaged by injury your chance is largely past you. I think there's needs to be some exemptions, perhaps 4-5 players from the age of 20-22 allowed. Particularly for front rowers and halves who can take a while to learn their craft and what is required of it in first grade.

Yep, miss a season and you're goneskis. Scott is seriously one of the best
defenders I have ever seen - when he hits you....you stay down. Bone
crushing stuff from someone who doesn't carry much weight.

He has a very handy boot as well.

He has a huge career ahead of him.

Daniel O'Reagan has star potential. Plays stand-off or lock. Greg Bird sort of player I guess. Ten times the man Bird is though.

Well said! He's also a natural leader like Dan O'Regan, something the Warriors aren't exactly blessed with. He captained teams right through the grades unlike Mannering who everyone thinks should be the future Warriors and Kiwi's captain.

My kid got a game with Scott when he came back from injury through the Bay Roskill prems and the influence he had transformed a struggling team into contenders for a day earning a draw against Manurewa. He's a class act but was never going to shine in the 20s, it's not his style of football.

It was Scott's choice I'm sure, perhaps Lillyman was the writing on the wall.

Yeah I agree on his defence. In a way his defence seemed a bit Steve Rapira-ish, always into the middrift and bending them backwards.

Good luck to him anyway, it's a pity that one who was held around the club and particularly the fringes of the top 25 for a while, and has leadership experience, as you say Skinner a bit of a boot on him too, it's a pity that we weren't able to find a pathway that satisfied him within the Warriors.

The U20 comp has created more players than there are clubs.

What do we do with them all ?

scotty is a good guy and a good player, probably the fittest guy i've seen. I played with him a couple of years and was very mature for his age.
biggest problem for him was his size. mid 90's not big enough for first grade. very similar to all warriors back rowers these days. lillyman, luck, Mannering and even Matulino to a degree so I guess in there eyes no great loss.

There'd be 100 plus players on the Warriors books outside of the top 25 from the development squad through to the 2 tier players. Maybe 20 will make it through to the top 25 over the next 5 years and of the rest, the lucky ones will get a gig at another NRL club. Most will get day jobs like the rest of us.

For every 2 positions that become available in Warriors 1st grade squad, 1 will go to an import. Some of the juniors realise this and plan accordingly and rest just rely on luck.
I know of one U20s player who has made sure his contract finishes well before they turn 20 so they can potentially play for another club that has a clearer path to 1st grade.
