Are the Wellington RL using it as a rep team brand in same way WA did Reds and Pirates? Cant see a club called Orcas?
In 2006 that was bid. This is something different altogether

It actually hurts their case in a way, kinda demanding.. doesn't work that way and is disrespectful to the NRL and their process. Its interesting they have changed their language to club 18. They must be feeling confident if they think they will be next club in?
Mind you I saw all this hoopla for the Pirates in 2012 and CC Bears and that went no-where. Sometime bid interests get ahead of themselves and think they will influence where NRL will choose for next club if they make enough noise. Having been there and done it we know it doesnt work like that.
Sounds like a nice junket for some Canterbury RL people lol. Be interesting to see who the two backers are? The guy leading the bid interest is a school teacher. It actually hurts their case in a way, kinda demanding.. doesn't work that way and is disrespectful to the NRL and their process.
Like I've said many times : real business respect the process and condone themselves in a respectful manner. Once we have clarity on where the NRL wants to go, that's when we will see the real players.
I'm happy to be proven wrong but I doubt it.
BTW this "bid" has nothing accept tickets to the double header in Vegas..o and 157 followers lol , what exactly are people " investing" in ? Anyone with a decent investment would just do it themselves.. not throw money at some fb friends at the footy lol
Not all bids can be fronted by a pawnbroker who flogs second hand shit. The guy leading the bid interest is a school teacher.

At least it tells us something about the level of judgement of certain posters who think grifters like Trump, Vivek and RK are legitDa fuq is going on in this thread, it turned into a US rightard fanboi thread for a few pages.
Comedy gold.

Good to see you acknowledge they have backers nowSounds like a nice junket for some Canterbury RL people lol. Be interesting to see who the two backers are? The guy leading the bid interest is a school teacher.
It doesn't appear to much more then some bloke who posted something on his socials.Good to see you acknowledge they have backers now
do you get bored of being proven wrong daily ?
Rugby League Warriors excluded is not ‘very prominent’ in NZ.What I find facilitating is the argument that a WA team suddenly makes it an national comp... on that metric, surely a South Island team makes it a national comp in NZ? right?
1 team in Auckland is kind of a novelty but another on the other Island, game changer.
Rugby league has a better chance of becoming NZ national sport than it does in Australia- Rugby league will always be obscure and niche in AFL states but in NZ rugby league is very prominent right across the country! A growing at break neck speed.
CBBetter than being secret & revealing nothing..
yep and this is why the Warriors have always struggled with player development- we have the raw talent but the systems and pathways just don’t exist in NZ like they do in Australia. Thankfully the Warriors at least are investing more properly in pathways these days but there needs to be more NRL investment to grow the game at grassroots level.Rugby League Warriors excluded is not ‘very prominent’ in NZ.
Outside of Auckland/Waikato/Canterbury there is a struggling club comp in Wellington, most with a max of 2 grades for each club.
Majority of the country does not have league as an option in schools and most provinces have a max of 4-5 clubs that often will have to have inter provincial matches to have any form of a comp.
NZ 2 will likely help grow League but at the moment it’s totally amateur hour in how the code is run, they are in desperate need of a NSW cup type provincial comp run by a body that isn’t inept almost to the level of corrupt.
NopeCB

If the goal is, checks thread title, to deal a massive blow to NZ rugby then you'll need to set up NZ pathways. Without them you're never going to see your dream of league dominating in NZ.Nope
nz pathways will never compete with Australia
the only system is putting the warriors systems in the Australian one from under 16 to reserve grade
it’s why Aussie clubs have zero issues getting kiwi juniors and turning them into stars
It's always been that way so that's the way it has to be isn't the answer.Nope

It's a sign that these guys are terminally online that there whole identity revolves around imported US politics.
Even our conspiracy theories are imported into AU and NZ these days. That's how bad it's become, we can't even have our own home-grown lunatic ideas.
Schools are the major hurdle, many kids just get zero exposure to league. I was in school when the Warriors started and in uni when the Warriors made their first Grand final. Both times the hype and popularity were higher than it is now and both times (in 2 different provinces) I tried to play league but there just wasn’t a team to play for, had a few likeminded mates also keen to play but pretty much even if we could get a team together there was simply nobody to play against. It's always been that way so that's the way it has to be isn't the answer.
They can definitely develop these pathways! Another team makes that possible!
The Warriors are getting serious with their pathways! ( better late than never!) Once they start to see the fruits, they will want to expand that! Which isn't practical flying multiple teams across the tasman every other week.
With an additional team There's no reason why there can't be an 8 or so schools across the country with elite rugby league scholarship programs.
The sleeping giant is waking ..
NZRL and ARL are broke and can barely organise a piss up at a brewery. Warriors do some work but seem to rarely look outside of Auckland and even then are competing with 16 other NRL clubs and 6 Super Rugby clubs for players- it’s a bit of a myth that they have first access and preference to nz playersAre the NZRL and Warriors working with schools in Auckland to get more kids playing the game?
