If it's Auckland, then Christchurch, then a 2nd North Island team, it'll be interesting to see how they carve-up the North Island.

You could say Auckland vs Rest of the North Island - but there's also an argument for Hamilton/ Bay of Plenty to be part of the Warriors "catchment" based on their proximity to Auckland - and I guess you could have a game per season in Hamilton and/or Rotorua. That would allow the Wellington based team to take games to Palmerston North, New Plymouth or Napier & not have to bother with Hamilton, let alone the Bay of Plenty.

But that's just speculation.. and drifting right off the NZ 2 topic.

If CHCH were 2 then I’d Say Wellington were the Natural 3rd choice. Being Bottom of the North it allows theirs and the Warriors territory to sorta naturally bleed into each other- would likely essentially be the super rugby aligned provinces I’d say
