You spend an extra 20 million pa on nz schools and juniors what will happen

A) most will go to super rugby since there is only one nz nrl team and most don’t want to move to Australia

B) you will just get kids who play union also playing league

It’s not going to grow the game

The priority is a second nz nrl team and maybe a third with an incremental increase in funding to the nzrl

Your comment that their funding should replicate the qrl or nswrl is just nuts

And the arl has done loads for the nzrl stop making out it hasn’t

There will be an extra 100 NRL first grade spots up for grabs. How many extra SR spaces will there be than now?
Kids moving to play Union and League is fine, they learn the RL skills earlier and get in the shop window of NRL. With 100 extra 1st grade spots there will be more opportunity for more kids if they playing RL.
Yeh $20mil a year to grassroots wont grow the amount of kids playing the game at all. Why the hell are we wasting $50mill on NSW and Qlnd then? Quick let the Albo know PNG doesnt need all that money, no point in WA funding 24 SHS programs then. cuckoo cuckoo

B) they ensured the nzrl is guaranteed two home tests a year to make money off

Nz is under the control of the nzrl. They couldn’t run a chook raffle.

And yeh we will need more juniors to cover for clubs like Perth and Melbourne who won’t be able to produce many or any regular nrl players
