In November 🤦‍♂️
What exactly is the point of that.
Remember thefirst season Warriors got Alex Corvo (2018 I think?) we were super fit and started with a hiss and a roar and were sitting top of the table close to halfway through the season, then we burnt out and ended up limping into 8th spot.
Same theory was behind Warriors in 23 where we started strong and fit/well drilled then started to show signs of fatigue later in the season and underwhelmed a bit in the later games, it’s also a theory to our horror injury run this season being a hangover of that

While we await any more news, here's the 1987 South Island team photo, courtesy of "Point of Difference' rugby league Facebook group.

Honestly, this wouldn't ba a bad colour combo for NZ 2.. at least it'd have some history.

South island rep teams are usually predominantly white with some black, current league team uses those colours.
’North Island’ and ‘South Island’ don’t tend to be consistent rep teams in higher profile sports to get a consistent colour scheme. In my lifetime I only remember a hand full of North v South Cricket and Union games that don’t tend to stick around despite the occasional effort to bring them back. Last one I remember was a Union game over COVID when borders were closed
The idea of a big North Island vs South Island rivalry gets overestimated by Australians, the big rivalries in NZ tend to be more inter-provincial.

Craig is a bum who's never even gone back to back
Yes, but you have to acknowledge he has done what he has done in a foreign city we all call Mexico (that doesn't sound right)
And is sharing it with 9 other AFL pro clubs, I suppose it makes him irrelevant, but to us it's great to be able succeed in a city that genuinely hates RL

Tallis said he learned a lot more about rugby league from b.smith than Wayne Bennett

He’s a protege of the Warren Ryan school of coaching

Gus is too
Yes, I heard Gordy speaking well of Brian recently. He even speaks kinda well of St George these days. He has mellowed with age.

A bit like Brian Smith. After 3 years players couldn’t stand him
No coincidence they had Smith on ABC Grandstand before the Wok came in. Many is the weekend when I was meant to be working that I listened to those two and David Morrow analyse the game for 8 hours on saturday`s and sunday`s. Those two pairings were the best and most intelligent Rugby League coverage there has ever been in my opinion.

I agree. I used to very much enjoy the coverage.
