Ponga isnt even the best QLD fullback let alone in general and Tino is a mid not back row.

8 starters of the 13 that are locked in best. couple benchies too, a couple superstars also not playing their club position i.e turbo etc.
aussies might be light on out and out mids but blokes like cotter put in way more than 98% of the mids in the comp no matter where they from or who they represent.
anyways digressing big time here so apologise but needed to highlight how perthwrongs, ding dong is wrong yet again. its like he doesnt actually watch any footy, instead spends his time here and on social media talking about a product he has 0 clue in lol
for reference i have
critchon - ctr (samoa)
farnsworth - ctr (england)
to'o - wg (samoa)
hass - p (samoa)
AFB - p (tonga)
as the other 5 positions in the 13.
3 samoans, 1 englishmen and 1 tongan (although has played for kiwis too). theres no out and out kiwis in the best 13. maybe 1 in the best 17.
Well sure... but those are fantasy teams and debatable also. The best 17 players in the are never all uninjured.. never, not even close. Most internationals and origins are a mix between 1st,, 2nd and 3rd or even 4th best based on availability which is made even worse with off season surgeries.
And if the Kiwis became a force, do some of those pac islands players pull on the Kiwi jumper instead?
Of course the current eligibility makes that hard to accomplish...
There's another point here also, if we get another Kiwi team.. less kids leave NZ and therefore won't be eligible for Origin to begin with.
Here's what I think needs to happen:
Origin rules need to be relaxed to make tier 1 nations eligible, that will broaden the appeal of Origin to other nations( like NZ who already despite this follow and pick a side) have more talent available ( even if it is a small fraction) and a better spectacle as a result.
But more importantly, it will encourage those wanting to represent England like Radly or Ponga for NZ to do so, resulting in a better international competition and restoring representation of your nation as the pinnacle of the sport.
Currently we can watch Luia or Hass on the big stage in Origin and internationals. There's no reason not to do that across the board.
