Interesting day. Obviously McCullum... I mean, that was out of this world. Breaks his own NZ test record that he set a matter of weeks ago, and, he now has easily scored the most test sixes in one calendar year in the history of test cricket. First kiwi to 1000 test runs in a calendar year, scored a test century in one session even with Sri Lanka's disgraceful over rate (I hope someone cops a suspension for that, that was outrageous and borderline, well you know what), and was coasting it in until dismissed for the fastest test century by balls and time... not bad for the time, they were saying that Don Bradman has that record, and in that 6 hour day of test cricket they got through 124 overs, so it shows how amazing McCullum's hitting was.
Disappointments was the fact the top three four themselves out. Rutherford missed a half volley on off stump and got castled, Latham got caught at point turning his bat too quickly on a rank bad ball on leg stump, Taylor was run out by Williamson, and Williamson dead set missed a straight one on off stick. And BJ Watling not using DRS for what was blatantly obviously not out. Can't believe Mark Craig didn't let him know it was a deadset goober of a decision. Why save the 2 DRS's for the tail when it was palpably not out?
Becoming a good test team this unit.
