Wow, thanks for the exhaustive list. Where'd you find it? I've been going crazy looking for a list of that kinds. Players we should look at (obviously not with the intention of attempting to sign all of them).... *(I also didn't include players we obviously have no shot at getting)

Reni Mautia: Good young forward prospect
Luke Williamson: Excellent utility value
Ben MacDougall: One of Melbourne's stand outs this season
Brenton Bowen: Very promising backline player and goal kicker
Eric Grothe: Could be a solid investment. Definite potential
Paul Whatuira: Would be an excellent replacement for Tahu
Frank Pritchard: Another great forward prospect
Paul Stringer: Very useful if we could sign him.
Justin Smith: Workhorse and goal kicker
JAMIE RUSSO: Has signed with Canberra
Michal Howell: Definite potential superstar
Lance Hohaia: Worth a look. Played international football
Luke Covell: More than a goal-kicker
Bronson Harrison: Would be a great investment
Gray Viane: Same as above
Paul Gallen: Solid investment
Paul Franze: Former Newie boy. Could come cheap
Michael Sullivan: A must have if we could lure him. One of the Sharks' best

Now that the Johns issue is apparantly resolved, the Knights still need to address their deficiency in the forwards. IMO the clubs needs a "Mark O'Meally or Steve Price" style prop to pack alongside Bedys and Wooly AND a "Hindmarsh" style second rower who can make breaks close to the ruck to pack alongside Simmo making breaks on the fringe. IF the clubs is losing Robbie, Parso, BK and a handful of other fringe players, surely they can combine those funds to re-sign Tahu on an upgrade and sign two quality forwards?

Eric Grothe won't be going anywhere. It's only technically he is off contract because he still has a 1 year option running with the Parramatta club.

Is it in his favour or the club.

Paul Franze would be a good buy.

Off contract after a year of playing in reserve grade at the Sharks, could be a cheap buy.

All he needs to do is get his confidence back and he'll fire again.

Bronson Harrison would be a good yet cheap pick up, but I've heard he re-signed with the Tigers.

i think all we could realistically hope for now would be Paul Stringer and the re-signing of Tahu. Our efforts should be put towards talking to Ennis and showing him is future as Lock of the team - he'd get plenty of ball off the halves and his kicking game would be an amazing bonus - imagine 4 good kickers in the starting 13!

if we got Stringer and kept Tahu and Ennis i would suggest thats a pretty successful campaign, and the potential of a great 2005.
