How the hell are the Titans fitting all of their new players under the salary cap i.e. Idris, Douglas, Champion and now Myles. Must be a lot of creative accounting going on at the Coast.

My view on this is simple, I think the Titans have money problems (there has been a number of articles about this over the last year or so) and Searle is going all out to win a comp ASAP to shore up the business.

I also think that they are hoping the new TV deal kicks in on time to solve their cap issues in the last couple of years of most of these new contracts.

Damn shame about Myles sounds like similar offers were tabled, however if a guy wants to go home you cant blame him, just hope we dont knee jerk and throw the kitchen sink @ Blair or worse still bring in Mason.

i don't get the Mason hate anymore. it's not like he'd still be asking big money (he wouldn't get it if he did)... and he was playing good footy for the Cowboys before he left. not world-beating form... but he wasn't horrible. i'd have him on a modest contract if he wanted to come.

Just the attitude he brought to the Roosters..... Reportedly it was dreadful by all reports, he'd be a step backwards in my oppinion.

he's certainly been lazy at times throughout his career. probably a good reason why we have no chance of seeing him here - Bennett won't go and recruit a known slacker.

Imagine what Mason could do under WB though... For me he isn't high on the list though...

Is it time for me to bring up SBW again or too early?

Tell you what. When the salary cap hits $15 Million and we can fit his $2 Million a year salary under it THEN you can bring him up.

Perhaps the Titans thought they signed Myles but instead signed this guy.....

Mason is over rated, and a wanker. No thanks. If we want to buy a tosser at least get one that can play, like bird.

I can tell that some people in here didn't watch many Cowboys games in 2010. Mason was great last year, not too far off Matt Scott in terms of form for the Cowboys. Shame the team did 3/10ths of stuff all with the go forward those two generated. Obviously there's all the off field stuff people talk about, but you would hope that with every year that goes past, the guy gets more mature. Though he is 31 years old now, so getting a bit long in the tooth.

There will be some guys on the bench next year at the Titans who may be looking for permanent first grade positions such as Minichello, Bodene Thompson, Tagastese in the forwards and Tomane and Tonga in the backs. Not sure what their contractual obligations are but Myles was still on contract for next year and the Titans surely will need to shed some. I would be making some enquiries on Bodene who is a gun but playing out of position this year.
