News just in that Johns is out of the match with that neck injury.

Match will be a much harder contest to tip right now.

All Pre-game discussion, live updates and post match talk in this thread.

Disappointing news though a good opportunity for the Newcastle Knights to stand up and be counted for against New Zealand minus one Andrew Johns. A good win here over New Zealand at home won't dispell the 'can't win without Andrew Johns' talk though it will give us another look at what this early season all conquering Knights team is capable of minus their star half. Jarrod Mullen coming in to the side is a more than capable replacement and he can make a statement here today.

I still have the Newcastle Knights winning this one though the $5 on offer for a Warriors 'head to head' win is attractive :D

Latest Odds.
Damn

Well one bookie apparently tells us 'Andrew Johns has more influence on betting markets than any athlete in any sport in Australia' (as per the article by Will Swanton in the Sun Herald this morning).

$2.60 is not as attractive today, the $2.15 for Melbourne is a better chance at doubling your money :D

This may even it up a little. I hope that Joey makes a swift recovery and is back playing next week. I can't wait to see him facing up to the Kiwis on May 5.

Lol, you'll be laughing if they get up...but don't count on it just yet...the Warriors are as bad as Souths!

Cheers mate, how bad is the injury, ie. will it keep him out for long or will he be back next week?

It's really nothing. He could easily have played this week, he got a clearance from the doctor, but he decided he wanted to get himself in perfect health for the Cowboys match and the rest of the season.

It's only a minor strain, he's probably coming back next week. Either way it's best for him to be rested early in the season against *gulp* lesser teams rather than rush him back. If we wanted, we probably could've run Sonny against Newcastle, but at this point, why risk it?
