Yes, but Newcastle is the most affected, cause Johns is such a key player. When he's not there, every player's confidence is down, you might find one or 2 players trying hard but the rest are pretty ordinary.

Others of course dont do well when their best player isnt there, but they sometimes win and you see half the players do well.

I didnt really see the game myself, Im only goin on last year when they didnt have Johns for 6 weeks.

Just on Tigers there's a big difference when Marshall's there, mainly in attack but no so much in defence. I think they need to work on their defence Tigers.

An on the topic of "one man teams" every team in the comp will suffer when there most influential player is gone i.e.

Tigers- benji
dragons- barrett
broncos- lockyer
eels- hindmasrh
sharks- kimmorley
cowboys- bowen
panthers- Gower

Every team struggles with out there best its time other people start realizing that

i agree with the tigers.. but every other team can still win without there main player...

drogon-have loads of talent to cover barrett hornby can cover 5/8 or half..
brocos-struggle with him lately so without wouldnt make much difference..
eels-hindmarsh would be hard to fill but they still wouldnt struggle like the knights..
sharks- have dykes but like broncos stuggle with kimmorley..
cowboys-have thurston and whatever their halfbacks name is plus plenty of other backs to cover his position..
and the pannies- have this year atleast cambell who can cover 5/8

To be fair to the Knigjts the effort was still there today but they lacked the organisation that Johns gives them, and once the Warriors got them into an arm wrestle they seemed to lose confidence. In that way the big wins they've been getting with Johns in the side probably hurt them in a way as they weren't so used having to grind it out.

The Eels look pretty vunerable without Tim Smith. Hindmarsh is one thing in his defence, but Smith is your attack. I think he is far more important to you.

Lets roll back to the game against the Broncos. What happened when he was off?

He mightve carrying an injury but he still shouldve played on, Morris kept taking too many wrong options it wouldve better to Marsh as the kicker and Morris do the passing.

If Smith is injured before a match, then there's no big problem. Blake Green or even Marcus Perenara are perfect replacements for Smithy, but obviously not as good.

And the Raiders would "only" be missing 30 tackles per game instead of 50....

If Canberra cheated the cap, they'd still be ahead of the Warriors ;-)

If the Dogs hadn't been caught cheating the cap in 2002, they still would have lost to the Warriors in the Grand Final

Chances are we would've faced the Rorters in the Grand Final buddy.

Oh did you know that we did in 2004, and won?

I dont think you understood what I meant. You have had 4 or so months to practice without Jones, I said 'gameday'. We would of had a whole plan with Johns this week and now we would of needed a whole new plan today because Johns was out.

I know. I understood what you meant. you did not understand what I meant.

The warriors sure have been in pre-season training for month or 2 without jones (lots of the kiwis got back late and only started training in january) but it is the impact of jones as he was one of the greatest ever kiwis to play the game. You can't just replace someone like that in 2 months of pre-season traning and expect the team to play the same or the replacement to be as good. it's the impact that jones made that is missing which cannot be replaced.

and the knights are used to playing without johns a lot. he has been injured quite a lot in recent years. I am also sure the knight have pracitced in pre-season without him before.

I don't think other teams would struggle as much as the knights do. other teams are affected for sure but then can still win without one of there regular star players. the knights on the other hand struggle most of the time without johns there.

Ok newcastle arent as good without johns.....who wud be
the tigers arent as good without benji, cowboys wudnt be without thurston..
everyone says yea sure other teams struggle to win without the keyplayers but atleast they win the occasional game....the knights win the occasional game to, all uve got to do is look at the year kurt gidley who certainly isnt the greatest playmaker going around nearly took them to the 8...when johns misses random games newcastle arent abley prepared to cover johns enormous presence, they lack organisation cus johns is always doing it...but organisation comes with preparation i guarentee u that if johns missed four weeks, newi wud atleast win the last two
mullen with time and training as the half with preparation and with the organisation wud see them do fine..they wudnt be as dominant thats obvious
i cant wait till the first year without johns when alot of people get surprised by the knights. a pre season and knowing they hav to do it without him and they become just a regular team rather then a team with teh best player of all time. Look at the team, its not like the talent isnt there across the park

How did the warriors play anyway? Was it just bad play by the knights or did the warriors actually play well? we go them next week thats all.

Both teams were pretty average, they were good in patches though. Warriors played razzle dazzle footy most of the game. Russell Smith was hopeless though, bad calls against both sides. Well done to the Warriors, but i wouldn't take much from it. We all know a Joeyless Knights are wooden Spoon contenders.

Apparently the Warriors were a mile offside.. Owell other teams have been screwed by refs so you just have to accept it.

26-16 to the Warriors.

fien wasn't offside, it just looked offside to start with cause fien had to wait for the ball to get to him.

What were the stats last year when Johns wasn't playing? Wasn't it something like 0 from 13 without him? Can't remember how many they won with him but it was a lot more than 0.
Knights-Johns=sh*t.
