Rough day for Newtown going down 16-12 to a fairly average Wyong side.

Gagan came back and started from the bench. Roqica also returned and played well.

The side really missed the injured players / those called up for Cronulla. Nu Brown would have easily got them over the line in this one.

Mitch Brown didn't play - emergency for the Sharks?

I was there too. Terrible game.

Wyong won the game when after a laughably inept period of sustained attack on the line Newtown turned the ball over cheaply, three tackles later the Wyong Dummy half splits the line and then goes around the fullback who wasn't even watching (he was looking at the hill)

A great day out none the less.

Jets were back in the winner's circle today, beating North Sydney 32-14 after being down 14-0 at one stage. Kurt Capewell was the best player on the field, created problems almost every time he handled the ball and also kicked 6/7. Roqica and the Houmas were very strong and Josh Cleeland had an excellent second half after being very quiet in the first.

Nu Brown didn't play in the game.

Newtown beat Penrith 12-10 at Henson today. Huge crowd due to a food/craft beer festival at the match,

Newtown had all the ball but trailed until the last few minutes when Brown stepped a couple of players on the line and Capewell soaked up a lot of time to make the match-winning conversion. Real arm wrestle of a game with Panthers defending well & Jets coming up with some bad end of set options.

Capewell and JSL had strong games. Brown's running game was very dangerous, kicking game less so but he was ultimately the difference. With about 10 mins to go, he stepped through some Panthers forwards and set up Taumata for the winning try, but Taumata spilled it with the line open. Shortly after he went himself to score.

Jordan Drew continues to be a good prospect. Gagan got dumped on his head at one stage - lucky to not get hurt.

Second half started with something I have never seen before: Match held up for a moment because a couple of preschool age kids were standing on the field with the players.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BUBBY TOO. Bet you he ended up noice and pissed at Henson. God bless his little cotton socks.
I'm blind...
Btw Newtown were not behind, as Don said in his "report", they were in front 10-6. Track head.
I'll post photos mañana. Great crowd
