It was good to get the monkey off our back with the win over the Storm. Now we face a massive task in Wenty. We're level in 4th with Windsor though our points difference is far superior. At the same time this Saturday, a struggling Norths host Windsor. The Bears could do us (and them) a favour by knocking off the Wolves but we cannot rely on that. If we keep winning we'll stay in 4th.

The draw isn't easy for us. Wenty (H), Newcastle (A), Windsor (A) and Balmain (H). That's two big road trips and a home game against the league leaders before Reunion Day.

It could come down to the Windsor v Newtown game in a few weeks.

Anyway, first thing's first. Wenty at home this Saturday. We played out of our skins to knock them off at Ringrose. We showed maturity last Saturday in the dying stages not seen for a while. We should be getting a few players back this weekend. Let's get set for a big one.

Really looking forward to this game. Hopefully we'll be in with a show of beating the pretend maggies and I reckon that it'll give the Henson faithful a true indication of our chances in the semis.

Unfortunately Wenty got up 26-12.

Newtown were down 10-0 at half time. They had loads of chances to score but couldnt get near the line. Wenty defended well and we didn't have much structure. Two tries after the break saw Newtown led 12-10 in the second half but Wenty scored another try to lead 16-12. Newtown got a bit desperate and there were some turnovers in trying to get wuick points. Wenty kicked two penalty goals to go out to 20-12 before a converted try on the bell.

Windsor lost as well (to Norths 40-38 after the Wolves were up 34-0) so Newtown stay in 4th. It's a bit of a Steven Bradbury 4th. Wests beat Auckland yesterday so they go to 21 points. It's a 3 way race for 4th.

With 2 major injuries to Moujalli twisted ankle after 20 min and couldnt return as well as Riley Brown taken by ambulance for a neck injury i thought we put up a good fight against Wenty. At 12-10 we had them on the back foot and their coaching staff looked worried but it was not to be.

True. Brown showed how dangerous he could be at this grade.

What frustrated me was the first half. We were down their end so often and we had repeat sets but then we'd let the pressure off with a dropped ball or a poor 5th tackle option.

Coaching staff looked worried? They looked to be laughing their way through most of the game - only real worry was the ridiculous refereeing decisions throughout the game.
