BTW, if all teams play to current form 3 wins from those 5 would be a great result.
All those teams grow a leg against us. Not just the Titans.
I think Newie might be phuqued now with Myth Piss tearing a tit
It is also part of the "we play well as underdogs and poorly as favourites" thing we have going.
But 3 would be good, especially given our injuries and patchy form. Given some of the crap we have dished up this year, 6 wins and 6 losses from the first 12 would at least have us in contention for finals, and hopefully with a fully fit team and stable and improving spine, we can finish the year in better form.
Got to feel sorry for Knights fans, that's a huge kick in the gonads for them. Had his own little directional plays going there and it was working well. On a mre pleasant note, Manly will win the spoon this year.
Yeah, rough for the Knights. It is part of sport, but seems particularly unfair to the team that has claimed the last 3 wooden spoons. I agree they are still likely to be better than wooden spooners this year without Pearce.
Manly played as badly as I have ever seen a team play yesterday, and that includes some of the truly underwhelming Wests and Souths sides of the 90s. If you saw DCE or either Turbo brother play for the first time there, you'd think they were park footballers and you'd call for their sacking, they were terrible, much worse than Moylan or Holmes at their worst this year.
But Parramatta were not great. Against a team that wasn't playing absolutely putridly I think they'd have struggled. And the Dogs have the worst attack I can remember for a long time (at their best they are worse than our worst, and that is saying something).
I doubt Manly will play that badly again, despite the signs of cultural issues. They have more upside than the Eels or Dogs. But at the moment you'd think the spoon would come from those three. Pretty poor for Sydney rugby league, really. If they do finish at the bottom, it won't ease calls for a Sydney club to relocate.
