Yup huge loss for Newcastle. He had them playing with a lot of confidence and direction.

I think they’ll slide now. That’s the worst player they could lose this season.

Got to feel sorry for Knights fans, that's a huge kick in the gonads for them. Had his own little directional plays going there and it was working well. On a mre pleasant note, Manly will win the spoon this year.

BTW, if all teams play to current form 3 wins from those 5 would be a great result.

All those teams grow a leg against us. Not just the Titans.

I think Newie might be phuqued now with Myth Piss tearing a tit

It is also part of the "we play well as underdogs and poorly as favourites" thing we have going.

But 3 would be good, especially given our injuries and patchy form. Given some of the crap we have dished up this year, 6 wins and 6 losses from the first 12 would at least have us in contention for finals, and hopefully with a fully fit team and stable and improving spine, we can finish the year in better form.

Yeah, rough for the Knights. It is part of sport, but seems particularly unfair to the team that has claimed the last 3 wooden spoons. I agree they are still likely to be better than wooden spooners this year without Pearce.

Manly played as badly as I have ever seen a team play yesterday, and that includes some of the truly underwhelming Wests and Souths sides of the 90s. If you saw DCE or either Turbo brother play for the first time there, you'd think they were park footballers and you'd call for their sacking, they were terrible, much worse than Moylan or Holmes at their worst this year.

But Parramatta were not great. Against a team that wasn't playing absolutely putridly I think they'd have struggled. And the Dogs have the worst attack I can remember for a long time (at their best they are worse than our worst, and that is saying something).

I doubt Manly will play that badly again, despite the signs of cultural issues. They have more upside than the Eels or Dogs. But at the moment you'd think the spoon would come from those three. Pretty poor for Sydney rugby league, really. If they do finish at the bottom, it won't ease calls for a Sydney club to relocate.

With an average on 2 wins between them & the best of the 5 minus their halfback, we should win 4.

Injuries or not we show we can win, we need to keep our spine on the field, and we can work around injuries.

We have Gall and Lewis still out, Katoa still coming back through reggies which shows the depth, added to that Capewell is 18th man this weekend.

As long we can keep sine on field very confident we can the next 5

With the injuries we have I’m surprised you think we can jag 4 wins. None of those games look easy.

Milk, you are one of the ones that is very critical of the way we are playing, notably Townsend.

We got the job done last night at a place we barely go any good. Flanno hinted before the game that it would be back to the grind for this 1.

It’s all about the 2 points & I’m pretty sure Flanno would be stoked with that.

Yep I don’t think we are playing anywhere near our potential. We some amazing players that should be standing up and putting on some points. I find it interesting him saying we are going back into the grind for this 1, we have been doing that since all of last year. He comes up with some bs the ole Flano.

People need to look at why we needed those field goals last night. It has a lot to do with Townsend’s inability as a half. I’m not going to blame his missed goals on him but feel we need a new kicker. But his last tackle options but Newtown jets standard. Also he runs across field ALL the time which cramps the entire backline and then the defense just slides across with him. He leaves a lot to be desired as a half and think we need to expect better from him.

2 points is 2 points but we are scraping together wins when we shouldn’t be.

It's not all on Townsend, Moylan was rubbish last night. Team went noticeably backwards when Seggy went on. Was it twice in a row Moylan passed it to Seggy on the last and we died with the ball?

Moylan was tackled on the 4th far too many times.

Yes. These are 2 of the cat passes I have issue with. If Mythlan is so fragile he can’t take a hit then piss him off and put someone, anyone in that can. Can’t take a tackle, can’t pass worth shit, can’t make a tackle. Doesn’t kick much.

Great purchase

I just can never get excited about Segeyaro.

Isn’t any coincidence that the half that he plays 25 minutes of is the half we look shit in compared to the other half?

I always thought he was a talent but there has something missing now.

Eels will be tough next week.

If we are down, they will beat us.

Need to lift a notch or 2 from what we did at the Gold Coast, particularly in attack.

Yep. 1 of the next 3 would be disappointing from here, but I'd have taken 3 from 5 at the start of that 5 week block. Despite the injury toll, still hoping we can jag 2 of the next 3, which will really have us in the 8 with a squad that hopefully by then has some players back and is playing with a little cohesion.
