Roosters or Featherdusters; Knights slay Roosters

The Knights charged back into title contention on the strength of their huge forward pack last night.
Kennedy was inspirational, but the charge was taken up by all the Knights forwards, who played as if they had nothing to lose. Parsons and Perry bashed aside a brittle looking Roosters pack, who will find it hard to regroup before another bruising encounter next week in this finals series that suddenly looks wide open, with all four home teams looking like losing in their first game. Simpson, Abraham, Woolnough and Jobson also bashed hole after hole in the much vaunted Roosters defence.
The Knights backs also had a field day backing up their rampaging forwards.
Rooster Chris Walker had a very unfortunate game, coming up with a new club record 12 missed tackles, to beat even his season worst effort for Souths against the Knights earlier this year.

TEST captain Andrew Johns has been told he is no longer required to play next season for Newcastle.

The Knights captain has been released from his contract after yet another dazzling performance from his previous understudy, Kurt Gidley, in last night's win over the Roosters at Aussie Stadium.

Johns is said to be devastated but not surprised by the news of his sacking, claiming that he realised the Knights would need to choose between himself and Gidley.

Johns is expected to join Cessnock next season. ;-)

RUDDERS 3 TRY BLITZ SINKS ROOSTERS

The Newcastle Knights are desperately trying to talk 3 try Hero Sean Rudder out of leaving for the UK next season, after his one man demolition of the Sydney Roosters in last nights semi-final. Rudder was relentless in his one man show performance, he continually bamboozled Brad Fittler with his blistering speed, and right foot step. Fittler was quoted after the game, as saying it was the best performance by an individual he'd seen in all his years in the game. He made particular mention of Rudders spectacular 75 metre field goal that sealed the game for the Knights. In typical fashion, Sticky Stuart was seen rushing from the coaches box at full time waving a cheque book at Rudder, telling him to name his price.
Several Newcastle fans were spotted in the stands eating large amounts of humble pie when the full time siren sounded. One in particular was spitting chips as he tried to force the pie down

RUDDERS 3 TRY BLITZ SINKS ROOSTERS

LMAO Antonius!

How bloody good would that be. You'd be hard pushed to get me back on the plane on Sunday if Rudder turns in that kind of performance.

Besides, hasn't he scored a hat-trick already this season? Wise men say good things happen to those who wait. Personally I think Sean deserves this. :D

CHOOK HOSPITALISED BY HUMBLE PIE

FOLLOWING a rather unplesant batch of granny's humble pie, forum member Chook was hospitalised yesterday, seemingly too sick to make further comment.

The humble-pie eating contest was sparked by an amazing display of talent and skill by Knights number one 5/8, Sean Rudder.

The utility, under criticism from certain areas, produced a much-improved performance in single-handledly destroying the Roosters in a 70-0 romp, 40 points of which the talented utility scored himself - including two field goals.

The Knights led the match 40-0 at halftime, before Rudder was given a rest on the bench. The Knights secured the match with an extra 30 points, four tries of which were each scored after four consecutive penalties were awarded by referee Sean Hampstead.

Chook is said to be recovering well, suffering from food-poisoning and severe shock.
Relatives say the forum participant, whose previous opinions on Rudder had been well documented, would make a full recovery despite having consumed fair too much of the pastry-based food.

In a statement issued today, Chook told of his surprise at the emergence of Rudder's previously undiscovered talents, including long-range field goals.

Rudder is said to be being lured into the longest and highest paid contract ever offered by Newcastle - a $10.8 million deal to be paid over the 10 years of the contract.

Knights officials say previously high-paid stars such as Johns, Kennedy, Buderus and Gidley will all be released from their contracts to make room - along with 10 junior players.

PERRY AND MACDOUGALL DESTROY ROOSTERS

In a one sided match last night at Aussie Stadium, Newcastle utterly destroyed the Sydney Roosters in a lesson of sheer and methodical brutality.
A shaken Ricky Stewart was almost speechless at a post match interview when asked about the four Roosters players currently spending time in St. Vincents Hospital.
The tone of the match was set from the Roosters Kickoff with Perry taking the first hitup which left Adrian Morley unconsious and taking no further part in the match, a staggering Ned Catic was helped off the field two minutes later and was not seen again either.
A rampaging Ben Kennedy was impossible to contain when he offloaded to Kurt Gidley who flung
a brilliant cut out pass to Man of the match Adam McDougall who was over for the first of his eight trys.
Ten minutes into the second half a simply now unstoppable Perry smashed over the top of a despairing Fittler and knocking out Cayless in the process.
More trys to MacDougall, Buderus, Rudder, Kennedy and O'Davis quickly followed as a decimated Sydney scrambled in despair to keep out the unstoppable Red and Blue tide to no avail.
An all in brawl broke out from a scum sixteen minutes from fulltime with Shannon Hegarty wearing a massive punch from Parsons and taken from the field with a broken nose.
A late unconverted try to Craig Wing in the eightieth minute saw the Roosters finally on the board, but it was all much too late in front of a crowd of 36,000, half of whom were roaring estatically for Newcastle as the Knights went after the match to all sides of the field to clap their incredible supporters for their help in the 72 to 4 destruction of their arch enemies, the Sydney Roosters.
A beaming Coach Hagen is expected to name nearly the same line up for the Qualifying final with the expected return of flyer Timana Tahu .
