New show starting on Apple TV+ next Friday 'Chief Of War' starring Jason Momoa. Historical drama about the warring kingdoms of Hawaii in the lead up to the unification of Hawaii.
Trailers look really good imo so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

The Witcher (S1+S2) - it's okay, I haven't read the books so any shitting on source material isn't an issue for me, but at the same time I don't think I'd be interested in this at all if I hadn't played The Witcher 3. Felt like I was mostly just watching it to see what the characters would be like on television. Shelved it for now.

The Last Kingdom (6 episodes in) - I'm really enjoying this, I'm pretty sure I added it to my watchlist a long time ago from this thread. Just good television - I did jump straight to this from The Witcher and the quality jump is noticeable. Maybe I just wasn't up for fantasy and needed something more grounded.

Gangs of London Season 3. Watched the first 2 a while back and kinda forgot about it. Forgot just how full on it is, theres no down time, its go, go, go. Pretty much binged in 3 nights, love it.

Anyone caught Alien Earth? First 2 episodes are pretty damn good! Also reacquainted me with an absolutely rocking Tool song in episode 2.
Great stuff.

Yep, its good

However, 1 thing has really bugged me......
Hermit has 2 encounters with the Xenomorph and barely escapes each time. Yet minutes after both he is just cruising around like nothings happened, even walking down a dark corridor on the ship with his "sister" and he is all casual etc. He should be a ball of anxiety but yet showns no concern for the possible black death machine around any corner. Really took me out of the scenes at those points

First episode of Peacemaker season 2 was pretty good. Season 1 was very enjoyable, well and truly exceeded my expectations, so hopefully they can follow it up with another good season. The opening credits has had a massive downgrade though imo.

Late to the party but watching You on Netflix, can’t believe I slept on it. Halfway through season 3 and man what a ride. Great character development, millions of twists. It reminds me a lot of Dexter which I also loved. I really like how they make fun of this generation, slight spoiler but happens very early on when he has a guy captive, gives him food but he refuses to eat it cause it’s not gluten free 😂
Just finished this. Pretty good, last season was up and down, but worth the effort.

My Daughter is bringing her boyfriend around for dinner tonight, might need to knock him off just to be safe.

First episode of Welcome To Derry was good. Should be a good fun scary story with plenty of Stephen King references. I am glad I got HBO to watch it because lots of great stuff on there.

The Lowdown on Disney

started ok, Ethan Hawke is carrying it a bit. Got to episode 5 before Disney started showing, then got to episode 6 and the full blown ‘all white Christian’s are actually white supremists’ storyline came through. Just waiting for the 14 year old daughter to come out as lesbian which is being hinted at and absolutely essential to the plot, which im tipping is next episode.

Fully onboard with this.

Each book having 8-10 hours of TV to tell the story has tremendous potential. It already seems to have a darker tone in what is the lightest book.
