Negotiations were supposed to start soon but the delay in Perth has put things on hold

I would say next year talks will start once Perth and png have been finalised

The nrl will get around 550 million cash which is more than the afl gets around 530 million cash.

We get around 400 million cash now so a rise of 150 million pa which will be a decent bump

Salary cap will rise by around 2 to 3 million per club and the clubs themselves will get an additional 2 to 3 million each on top of it

So each club will be getting around 7 to 8 million over a salary cap of around 15 million

Future tv deals which will show a huge jump in ratings will be massive especially if they can get some decent money out of png which should be getting similar ratings to Sydney (but obviously worth less due to incomes)

A second nz side will see nrl ratings overtake super rugby and another huge growth market

Nice. Thank you for the info kind sir.

In terms of NRL (who cares about fumble-ball) the Binge offering will be for simulcast games only. You need to stump up the $35 for all NRL games on Kayo.
Fair enough, still good value at $18. Isnt going to do Ch9 audience figures any favours!

Yeh broadcaster’s will be ok with five rounds being cut
Not sure what the attachment was but it all depends on the package.

If 5 NRL rounds are cut but we get a similar number of NRL games due to extra teams PLUS we get an expanded Pacific Championships with four nations in each division four games a weekend plus a final that we see all rate well (Kangaroos games exceptionally well) it can be a win for the broadcasters, players and the game's finances

Yeh it was meninga saying that

If we want a big tv deal next time it’s a non starter

All the extra value from expansion will be lost from less rounds
