All 3 are future projects that have huge potential down the track.

Especially trying make tests more valuable a strong PNG helps that case

But that is 2 TV deals time
And yet when afl added the suns and gws they got an extra 50 million extra pa for each

Lmao

You have such a poor opinion on the value of extra games and new time slots

You know the warriors games are shown in Australia right ?

Tehehe

Maybe the nrl will get a crap tv deal bc there’s a boring team dominating the comp ??

And png v nz2 will ourate any game the suns or giants play in

32 million from sky nz plus content for Australian broadcasters which is also valuable

32 million for the nz rights puts it as the second most valuable rugby league club rights in the world

Has more to do with the timeslots they get but yep. It isn't just them any of the regional teams playing each other rates poorly.

GC, Canberra all will struggle when v any of the new teams

That is why this talk of a 22 round comp will affect things like this

@Perth Red its interesting you think the addition of 3 new teams will do little for the tv deal especially when one of those is Perth

You’ve been saying the nrl needs a more “national” comp to get tv deals like afl now it does it and more and you have walked back from their value to broadcast companies

I haven’t said it’s worth little. I just dont think it’s worth the huge increase you are predicting. Dolphins inclusion only brought in, allegedly, $20mill extra. I’d expect having 3 extra clubs would be worth around $80mill or so. Competition for the rights is where the big money will come from. We won’t really see the full value of the extra clubs until the following deal given they are rumoured to not all be in until near the end of the deal. Presuming the 2028> deal is only 5 years.

Didn’t you say the last tv deal was a poor one

Now you are saying we won’t get much more from that already poor deal ?

You claimed the suns were worth 50 million for the afl tv deal and the giants another 50 million pa

You’ve got 3 nrl clubs being worth 80 million whilst two failing afl clubs got 100 million

Shame you don’t have the same belief in the value of nrl expansion

By your logic they shouldn’t expand at all it will just dilute the tv money for the existing clubs

Dolphins brought that in because Fox got more Broncs games.

A reduced season sees less Broncs games

I can only go on the recent evidence we have, dolphins inclusion. However having two extra games a round gives nrl different options to break up the rights from the traditional two party purchase.

2 of the proposed expansion teams are in overseas locations of very little value to Australian tv.

There is a lot of variables at play for 2028> and even more for 2033> to make a call on how big an increase we will see. What I can say with confidence though is if we want a big increase it will require a bidding war.

Scrape, sound of you shifting goalposts lol. You said sky nz is second biggest RL tv deal in world, that is bs and you proved how wrong you are yourself lol. The second biggest tv deal in the world is $43mill+ cash in uk.

Just wanted to see the reaction showing the sl tv deal had fallen in half since you were talking down the nrl tv deal

Dolphins true value hasn’t been taken to market. Getting so many games on fta this year suggests nine value their content highly

You yourself said that.

All of the teams being added will only have value to Aussie broadcasters due to existing viewers in eastern states watching the extra games each week or the addition of a new live and exclusive time slot

And if we get a paying tv deal one day from png remember who said it first
