It’s obvious why you have such a low opinion of the nrl as a tv product since you don’t use it

Me I watch around six games a week and would ditch Foxtel the minute they lose the league

As would most people who actually watch nrl games on Fox

You have no kids and no life outside sitting in front of a tv.

I watch every game every week. Kayo allows me the chance to have dinner with the kids and watch the 5.30 game after the 7.30 game....

or go to games and watch the earlier game later

So the result is the same.

So there is no NRL on Fox now. So you cancelled Fox?

Well I’m not watching cricket or women’s afl

Whoever gets the nrl rights gets my money

It’s really that simple

And let’s not make personal attacks about someone’s life ive seen the guff you post on Twitter

I don't have Twitter so you have me mistaken.

You are admitted you only watch RL. You can spend 30 weeks a year all weekend watching NRL live and you have a life outside of that?

Or is this another lie of yours?

I’m literally posting on the game day threads which funnily enough I’ve never seen you in

Your obsession with that Cronulla guy and the trains was really weird you need to let that go

Right now I watching house and then the dune series , and that’s all I’m using Foxtel for

So would you keep Fox / kayo during winter if Stan gets the rugby league ???

Because why would I go in a spoiler thread IF I am watching the game on delay?

I am in once I catch up on the game

Again no idea who you are talking about

So you have other purposes for Foxtel than just NRL.

Well I already have Stan. But at $15 a month or so yes I would keep it for F1 and ESPN and the other sports I watch

What about the games not involving Penrith ?? Watching Penrith games on replay isn’t much of a flex

The minute Foxsports lose the nrl I’m axing it . The Foxtel library is garbage as it is then it’s losing hbo

And most nrl fans don’t have stan as there is nothing relevant on it now. They will follow where the nrl goes

None of your business but since you seem to want to know details.

I have dinner and put kids to bed. Then start the 6pm game into the 8pm game. By the time I skip halftime I end up 30mins behind.

11pm I comment in the game threads.

Again something you know zero about. Many NRL fans watch Yellowstone and other shows

Anyone in this thread have the figures of how many in the UK watched the NRL Ptemiership, GF and SOO?
And if you do have those figures, do you have how many in the UK watched the Aussie rules?
Just wondering on the "International appeal" of each sport, especially in the UK where DAZN exists apparently.

Won’t be much

Super league games get around 100 to 120k viewers on sky (at best)

Time difference means it would be way less than that

I would guess 10k for live streams or less

Same as the tv ratings here for super league games is tiny

Only decent league ratings in England are the challenge cup final which can get over a million

Tests do ok too since also on bbc

This guy is so desperate to claim the biggest league fan tag, that he doesn't realise that most people's lives don't revolve around NRL, and they actually have subscriptions for other content.

There's no NRL on Netflix, so guessing no NRL fans have Netflix subscriptions now.

I rarely watch Live because either being at games or getting kids in bed.

When I do watch Live. Games are almost impossible to watch chromecasted to the TV especially the bigger rating games games
We used to use Chromecast as well and had drop out issues all the time, it was unwatchable. Now use a combination of a Samsung tv and starlink and haven't had a single problem for two full seasons of footy.

ESL averages about 350k. Timezone means NRL will be less

the UK population is 66m. So you are looking about 3% of the population regularly watch RL.

Pacific is a smaller population too so that also is a hard one to judge the what is the cutoff for value

The super league grand final averaged 374k

Not every game is the super league grand final unfortunately

DAZN, a sports provider, didn't buy the Foxtel suite just to give up its highest rating sport. Nine have said they want the whole pie. The competitive tension will be there.

Does anyone know when the exclusive negotiation period runs out?

Up until now they also haven't produced content.

They now have a front row seat to the difficulties and costs that go with this.

That is the unknown here. Like if Foxtel was a licence to print money why did News Limited sell?

Time will tell how it plays out
