Yes and because of that they paid a lot, perhaps too much. If Stan get the NRL or fox have to pay more for it is their sports portfolio still profitable? I just find it interesting that after all the shit news did to secure the pay market they just decide to sell off and pull out immediately after signing the AFL deal.

That is a good point. All networks have a point where showing a certain sport is no longer profitable. They will never admit if they are at that point

I thought you might have been Rupert or part of the negotiation process given you wrote why they took part equity instead of full cash.
Nah

But these deals are common in finance if you read about them

An all cash deal would’ve been for less money

It’s a trade off between price and cash

Looks like this deal was 80 percent cash

Obviously paid to much for the AFL.😉
Afl claims Foxsports are paying them 400 million pa

It could be total bs but for a sport which rates 50 percent less than nrl that’s going to be a huge burden going forward

Especially if the lose nrl and over 2 million subscribers cancel their kayo/Fox subscriptions

The technology for steaming in 2024 simply isn't good enough. As bad as it is to say I hope Foxtel survives for the foreseeable future
I made the move from traditional style TV to watching all content exclusively on apps in early 2019.

I have had no issue streaming all types of sport since then.

It depends on your internet connection and the suppliers bandwidth. The first game of the first origin series on 9Now was a struggle. Had to watch the entire game on spider cam as the main stream was struggling. By game 2, 2019. All issues were resolved. Kayo has been fantastic throughout.

But before making the switch, I did my research on best internet providers for this type of usage and even had both Foxtel (traditional style tv) alongside Kayo sports for side by side comparisons.

It’s been perfect since game 1 of origin in 2019.

One of the main reasons I decided to do the comparison in the first place was because Foxtel were telling me they were removing cable services and all their services would be satellite services going forward, which have really bad reliability when it comes to cloudy weather conditions in my experience.

lol sore spot Mr Carlton.

Yep Kayo always freezes even with kids in bed not streaming.

Kayo never freezes for me. Reasons in earlier reply.

I unblocked months ago. I rarely keep people permanently blocked on twitter unless they fail to have a civil conversation.
How have you not blocked yourself then?

also I believe the platform is called X now, since the great and wonderful Elon Musk brought it. Was a great change and made a lot of people happy.

just not the left wing loons.
