It couldn't even get the history of Channel 10 correct. They have a long tradition of broadcasting the game, and did it for many years before 9 bought the rights.

Former Foxtel executive Amanda Laing will take the reins of Nine’s combined Streaming & Broadcasting division, overseeing the group’s combined radio, television, and 9Now and Stan streaming operations. Ms Laing left Foxtel, part-owned by News Corp (publisher of The Australian), in October 2024.

Mr Stanton told staff that Ms Laing would be charged with “leveraging the world-class content the team creates and maximising its value across Streaming & Broadcast” in a move which also eliminates the Stan CEO position, once held by former Nine boss Mike Sneesby.

Stan has been merged in with the FTA broadcasting (organisationally) at Nine.

Nine has appointed former Foxtel executive Amanda Laing to lead a converged streaming and broadcast division resulting in the departure of Stan’s Martin Kugeler.

When the foxtel deal is complete , that would be the ideal time to hold the negotiations- the old mangement ( Patrick Delaney) is he new management, and they would be in such a shitter if they lost the rights, in DANZ owners eyes. So it would not be unreasonable for Foxtel/kayo pay overs. Combine this with a possible two FTA deals ie Ten and Nine one could break new ground in media money landscape... by the way in FEB 2025 annual financial reports are out for the 2024 season, lets see.

1 games Nine- Normal Friday night (late)
1 games ten- Early Friday ( i like this time- i cant wait for the late Nine game- i want it now)

1 game Ten Sunday 2pm for after game finish into their 'eye witness news'.
1game Nine Sunday 4pm with a finishing into their 6pm news

Now both Nine and Ten can show on their Pay Tv platforms each other FTA games * must be on stan/paramount.
Notice their is a increase of FTA games by one against 3 which we have now.
Notice now the 3 FTA games are shown over 3 night, Thur,Friday, and Sunday. Under the new proposed (above) the games increase BUT the days/night decrease by one ie only FTA Fri, Sunday.

For FTA their is 4 big exclusive high rating events, 3 state of origin and the Grand final- for example you could split it up as follows Grand final and game 3 SOO to one FTA, while the other FTA gets the game 1 and 2 SOS, big rating their. Each year they change or stay the same , whatever they please.

With enhanced action before the start of season in Los Vegas, early Feb hold a Nines tournament in the Uk and Australia/NZ and USA, Las Vegas. This 9nines tournament played in three locations ( so we send 3/4 NRl teams to the UK and they do the same sent ie 3/4 teams to Australia/NZ with the winner of each Such tournament getting 2 competition points in their respective countries and some $$$'s also for the extra competition.
They have to get a international format game for Mid Oct/Nov which taking a xx from above could have Australia , Australia A ( which goes to UK while England A comes to Australia, so games in Australia..England so both countries can make $$'s off crowds. Thats what you want action crowds Tv equals $$$ from FTA/payTV. So keeping a table of points over both comps ...which each contain teams NZ, Aust, Eng PNG, fiji( or the current pacific islander champion gets to have a team in this 'years Internation challene cup series... This above discount applies to ending the current contract with a discount for 2 out of the 10 years contract for early take of contract.
All on board for the 2026/2027 season , $580mpa or $560m pa with a nine discount, Deal over ten years equals
$ 5 billion and 800 hundred million dollars over the course of the contract OR $5.8 billion

One way to sell it would be invite the CEO of DANZ also the Ukrainian Owner to the Las Vegas opener. just the excitement will tie in a new deal...
Maybe you have to hold Foxtels payments with a slight increase ie $20m until the end of the old contract year/ whereby then the $350m pa comes into play, BUT don't go their initially. If they just hold the line and Nine excepts new contract we will be up $70m pa over our old deal

Sorry about the 'kinda' double post-....
When we get the DANZ owners over to Las Vegas, sure they wont sign then and their, but they will come away with itch/fever or excitement ( after all see the vid I post) we got to have this product, they would have mentally made the decision to, get it no matter the costs, then accounts and executives come in and bla bla bla, but in the back of their mind is the buzz of LAS VEGAS BABY

Reality streamers like Netflix want something that either generates new subscribers or holds existing subscribers.
Growing interest in an unknown sport from nothing, so one of those two criteria is met is not high on the agenda I'd suggest. Like said they are only buying stuff with a huge USA following and a high level of interest globally to drive worldwide subscription uptake.
More likely a smaller player with an interest in increasing its markets in Oz and England is far more likely than a big player.
