Yeh the 20k people who watch epl games is going to make a huge difference

Nrl is the only content that matters if you want to be the top network in terms of pay / streaming
Optus streaming has over 1mill+ subscribers, mostly for soccer. The big EPL games can get over 250k views. The UEFA cup final was one of the most streamed sports games in Australia. Optus is paying around $80mill a year for EPL rights.

Yeh there’s hundreds of thousands staying up till 3 am to watch Brentford v Ipswich

The article says Optus were losing money on the contract even after they put prices up 40 percent

Nrl or bust. That’s all that’s going to matter for Stan. Union and pl soccer are filler

That article shows why Streaming alone doesn't bring in the cash. Kayo works because the Foxtel set top box customers offsets Kayo

what other sport does Optus sport have that those 1million people are subscribing for?

The losses on the soccer contracts (if there are any) are offset by the drive of soccer fans to Optus mobile plans to get the subscription at 25% full cost. Not dissimilar to what Telstra used to do with AFL and NRL.
