Those two spots are the only query for me. I think I need to see more of Mellars before I throw him in. Simmons should be on the wing though IMO.

The only other bloke I'd have there is Bird. Lock or bench.

Covell would be an ideal sub. I think he was playing second row in P'L before he was injured and from reports he was going pretty well.

are you guys forgetting that neither simmons, rieck or merritt even understand the concept of 'defence', let alone being able to tackle any other rugby league player over the age of 9

defence wins premierships. we will never win squat while other teams can run at those players in our defensive line.

i'd like to see beattie stay, not feeling hutch at all.

And FTR.. I strongly disagree with your assessment of Simmons' wing defence. Positionally he is very sound on the wing.

Found it hard to pick, which is always a good thing
Hard to choose between Bird and Dumas.
That backline is wide open, I Dont know anythign about Mellars, but people seem to rate him. and obviously theres Rieck and Merritt, have we resigned Rieck?
I guess Sully could be starting soon, but I think he is best left to starting on the Bench, especially if we have dyksey.
Always nice to have options!
