So we missed out on another forward in Pahulu.

No more excuses for the rubbish recruitment (or lack there of) and Flanagan's inability to improve the roster.

The new CEO might come in and say No excuses coach, finals or back to the centrelink line. Now that would be much needed and a breath of fresh air because he doesn't deserve more time if/when we finish bottom of the table.

Exactly.

Most of the posters on here don't stop and ask, why did no other clubs show any interest in Flanno for a head coaching role besides us?
I think that speaks for itself really, the guy's reputation in club land must be absolute mud.

His manager can make up bullshit about other offers but I agree, no finals this year and that's him gone.

What are the excuses that gets rolled out for Flanagan? I've read:

- He needs more time (he was given three years and we're at the halfway point).

- We're in a rebuilding phase. (This is my favourite, what are are we rebuilding from?)

- There's no better coaches out there. (What a joke, things aren't good under this coach, so what we stick with him indefinitely until Bellamy or Bennett get bored?)

Absolute rubbish that is propagated on here by the day.
The only absolute rubbish propagated on here every day, is by silly little boys/girls?? like you "I'm Halfwit"
Your a Whiner "I'm Halfwit" why don't you go and support a net ball team.
Better still take this dickhead of a thread, started by another dickhead, jump on fat goerings Titanic 2 and along with all the conservatives and sink into oblivion.

Don’t forget to take Princess flannel skirt with you.

Yes that would be a great way to stamp his authority on the joint from day dot. Hope it happens as you've said mate, it would certainly be a breath of fresh air.

You'll be chiming in soon Sammy, you're a good logical thinker.
Whilst i do share some of your views, i do find that nearly every post you make is in someway death riding the coach. Like it or not he's the coach neither you or me can change that (unless you really are Craig Young, maybe you can)

We simply have to work with what we have. I would like if from time to time you could comment positively on something without referring to the coach.

I've been called a Flanno hater aswell, not everyone will agree on things but just having an opinion that the majority don't seems to piss alot of people off and on a public forum it confuses me. We are all passionate fans of the club first, we all want to win but this year has been a massive let down to me personally after being as optimistic as ever during the offseason. Anzac day meant alot to me and obviously others but after that performance I was done being so positive all the time, the formula doesn't seem to be working right now, hopefully that changes soon.

Your views/opinions on the coach etc are perfectly fine but when it’s rammed down people’s throat day after day, thread after thread, do you wonder why people are off you and others?? Like I said all good to have your view but ease up a bit, everyone gets it loud and clear. This place has turned into an absolute circus recently which is a little sad

That's fair. The back and forth looks alot worse for us though when half the forum are giving their views opinions etc and it's just us few against 20 accounts defending our opinion the same way as everyone else. Hopefully the team can start winning and then there won't be so much negative talk

When Griffin got the bullet I wanted Maguire and I wrote that on here, wasn’t overly set on Flanno but once he was named as coach then I accepted it and now I hope for all of us that he does get it right

Fair enough, I think most would agree with you but probably don't have to worry so much when they have me on ignore.

For me, it is very hard to look past most things as I would say the coach is the most important person in the entire club. Everything from recruitment, on field performance, grass roots etc are all responsibilities of the coach.

I like to focus on the big picture and how I think we could pull ourselves out of this nightmare that the last 14 years or so has been.

I could talk about the little positives such as some of the young players coming through, but the pessimist in me doesn't see much value in having good young players if we don't correct course.
I could dream up about players I think we should sign, but we bugger up so many, I just don't have any belief that we would actually manage to win these signatures.
So my posts are a lot more targeted at the problems at hand which is why they're perceived as negative and I'm okay with that.

Ultimately everyone has their passion on what they like to discuss, whether it be recruitment, juniors, on field strategy etc. Mine is what I've mentioned above, seeing the club reinvent itself in to a force to be reckoned with so that we can have long term, sustainable success and that all starts with the coach and management.

Flanno is contracted until the end of 26. No chance he gets an extension unless we play finals this year. I said a while ago Isaac Moses who manages Flanno will be pushing for an extension and was even before a ball was kicked this season saying another club wants to offer Flanno the job. Where were these clubs the last 10 years he was jobless? Absolutely no where, I think Flanno has to go and take Moses with him we don't need that shit around the club especially with all the youngsters we have coming through. No excuses, top 8 or goneski simple as that.
Agree the only thing that haunts me is if Flanno gets the boot in comes D. Young ....... That will probably do me ...... The club is still a boy's Club and until that changes we are F**KED ...... G.Young , Doust , Piggott , B.Graigh , Gordon's son and Daughter plus the rest of the other Leeches hanging around , a CEO who is "muted" and not allowed to speak ........

Yes, I agree illusion and meant to reply to something similar to one of KF7's posts as well.

Unfortunately the nepotism is rife in the club and has been for sometime as you've pointed out.

When the head coach recruits his own son and then prioritises his son's contract extension over that of some of the best players at the club, it's a pretty tell tale sign of where things are at.

At the very least we need a coach who can come in and clean house to get the team performing, we certainly don't need a coach who wants to get themself and their family in on the gravy train as well.
