Let's have a look here fellows.

- Chris Anderson had an affiliation with Scum Canterbury for all those years....and over the years has never been a fan of Parra, it's scum attitude...and maybe the 74-4 is still abit sour to him.

- Phil Gould,Dennis & him have been at one others throat for a while now...and recently didn't mention Brett Kenny as a star 5/8 but listed steve Carter etc.

Parra have a great side & i actually rate Greg Pritchard as a great judge of the game anyway.

For those who have yet to see it here is what Anderson said about Parra

Strengths: Potentially the two best players in the game in Nathan Hindmarsh and Jamie Lyon

Weaknesses: An lack of belif that they can win a comp. A feeling that they let their opportunity go a couple of years ago.

Andersons ladder is
1. Penrith
2. Warriors
3. Roosters
4. Canberra
5. Bulldogs
6. Dragons
7. Knights
8. Broncos

9. Storm
10. Sharks
11. Eels
12. Cowboys
13. Manly
14. Tigers
15. Souths

Hadley had this to say

He thinks the Roosters are the team to beat but then goes onto say

The biggest challenge to the Roosters will come from Sydney's West - Penrith and Parramatta. The Eels are a unknown quantity, having changed so many players. But they look bigger, stronger and meaner. If Adam Dykes maintains his trial form at the key halfback position. Eels fans are in for a happy winter.

He says the Knights are in for a long winter. He thinks they Cowboys and Manly are the darkhorses while his picked the Bunnies for the spoon

His also says that Cannings is the player the watch.
"Parramatta's giant recruit Aaron Cannings, providing he can stay way from rural night spots"

This is great news. I hope there are more people who tip us not to make the 8. High expectations are only a burden & a distraction.

My thoughts exactly, buddy. I've seen way too many write-ups about Parra and our changes so far this offseason.

It was like last year, and that big story about us wanting to get back our defensive title. Big picture of K-Lo, Spuddie, Killer and Greeny all standing there looking tough with their arms crossed, and I just thought to myself, "Man, open your mouth with this kind of talk and you are just asking for it."

I'd prefer a nice quiet offseason with the occasional bit of news splattered here and there to wet our appetite, but wityh us not one of the teams having the spotlight put on us.

Let's not forget this is the same man that tipped Penrith to win the wooden spoon last year.

He names our best thirteen and puts in two off season signings? Admittedly the bench will be different but at least two or three of those players who will get the opportunity will have played here last year. How will they take so long to gel if thats the case?

Not only that, but the so-called "exper" Phil Gould names our strongest 13 as:

3. Vaealiki
4. Lyon

WTF is he on? It could definitely work - such are the talents of those two. But Lyon always plays #3 for us and the Freshy/Sideshow combo was a world beater.

The prima donna of the Legaue world is at it again. Don't forget in his assessment of the best 5 5/8's he did not include Kenny. He actually put in Steve Carter and Mitch healey ahead of him. The bloke is a disgrace and a joke and he never takes critisizm well. he gets his own back by putting a grubby little article about his expert opinion. What a JOKE!!
He is now public enemy number 1 to all EELS fans.

2003: Phil Gould tips the Panthers to come last. Panthers win the minor premiership and the title

2002: Phil Gould predicts that no team will get close to Parramatta as they make up for the disappointment of 2001. The Eels scrape into the 8 and are bundled out in the first week of the semi's.

Just put my house on Parramatta for the top 4. Thanks Phil.

Phil actually thinks we can win. :?

You see, Phil Gould actually thinks that everyone in this world rushes out to buy the sunday paper just to see what he says, and when he speaks, he thinks we all drop everything to listen to him. So he thinks, if he writes parra off people will back the rest and our odds will baloon out, then he will stroll into the TAB and put a few thou on Parra to win the comp.

Nice try Gus, but i am onto you. Good to see you have faith in us.
