No news is bad news.

The Panthers faithful have waited and waited for some good news on the recruitment front but alas there is no news. No news is surely bad news.

Yes we have resigned our high profile players and young up and comers but alas we will surely go into 2011 with serious doubts about our playing roster.

Frank Pritchard hasn't been replaced. Wade Graham should never have been allowed to move on and obviously there is no replacement there.

More than ever I seriously question our clubs ambition. Is it finances. If so I can understand our apparent lack of ambition.

We have just had our most successful season since 2004 and it is not unreasonable to think we should be in a position to build on our success but alas I cannot feel we will go backwards.

Blind Freddie can tell we need to improve in certain key positions but alas we have not even looked likely to fill the obvious gaps.

I give up. As a forty year plus supporter I am at a loss to explain our inactivity in the recruitment front for 2011.

It is obvious our clubs lacks ambition and it would appear that isn't going to change any time soon.

There will never be a Panthers dynasty under the current regime, they are simply incapable of providing the foundations for the future.

I was expecting nothing and got expectations. We have signed Towney, Gibb, Seliuni, Taumata, Gordon.

Hardly world beaters the problem is they are out of touch.

Daz, Management knows they are shot if people vote. I know for a fact they made sure people couldn't vote. The flyer in the staff room stated people on the $8.80 membership couldn't vote. When as we know they can.

I don't mind a change in the board but I wouldn't want to go the way Parramatta did with 3p

No a good mix is required. When I voted last time I voted to keep Don Feltis, Barry Walker IMO still great administrators. Add Brandy too that list and a few others who are younger and actually attend the club on wkds and after the game. You have bars closed after a home semi on a Sat night. The others have huge lines about 45mins wait

It's no wonder more and more people I know are heading to the paceway for pre-game drinks. The club isn't operating to it's potential and Football side of things takes 1 step forward and 4 steps back. It's crazy

Most of our signings happened early in the new year this year and I expect the same for next. I think at this point many clubs are over the salary cap for 2011 and aren't willing to call who they are going to release until the tri-nations is over and most of the players and coaches return from their end of season trips. Yes that may mean that we pick up players not wanted by their current club. But who else do you expect?

Although I think we desperately need backrowers, I am very excited about the potential of Arana Taumata. If he can stop randomly bashing people, I think he's a superstar of the future. He could be the best signing our club has ever made.

But fingers crossed for some backrowers. For depth if nothing else.

The other problem for next year as well the lack of quality signings is the fact we have probably our weakest crop of 19/20 year olds in a few years.

Siejka's age group isn't too bad but the 2 years above that is the worry. Yes Coote is an established First Grader now, Waddell needs to get over injuries and Graham is gone to the Sharks. Vaurasi is probably the only one you can probably say for certain will see some First Grade in his career.

However, we are likely to field strong Mat's and Ball sides next year, but unfortunately these kids are a few years away from challenging for First Grade.

As for the Board, most of them(besides Brandy) are over 60 and a couple over 70. Surely that is not a good mix.

That's the main problem. our older NYC players were terrible. give us a few years for the 1992 DOB players to develop and we are fine sadly that's prob 2 years or so off

he will be a good signing imo..........

Once again I find myself agreeing with Stretcher. Gordon is mobile and quite good on his feet for a big fella. He's no Frank Pritchard, but will be a handful if he runs out wide. He's certainly more likely to create more opportunities than Nigel Plum or Nathan Smith, that's for sure.

I think with Gordon, Plum, maybe Laurie, Waterhouse, Paulo, Lewis, Smith and maybe 1 or 2 guys from 20s we'll have passable depth.
Outside of Waterhouse and Lewis I think the only guy with the attributes to take apart a side like Pritchard is Paulo. God I hope he fires soon.

Btw, I heard Bateman was heading to NQLD. Is this true or was someone mistaking the move with Cooper's? I would rate Bateman as great depth.

josh was in talks with NQ when i spoke to him 2 weeks ago but have not caught up with him since.Interesting rumour in todays paper suggesting we have signed Shane Walker.I hope not as i see no value in the signing as we have several quality back up wingers already Danny Chia.shane Elford ryan walker.Dave Simmons Greg Waddel Michael Mate we dont need another winger

If we sign Walker. I will organise a coo against the knob Leary. We don't need a 31yo outside backs. We need a backup half and decent backrowers ASAP

The management of both sides of the club both licensed and football is a joke.

Has anyone been to the club at a peak time like saturday night recently? Fair enough they felt the need to take action to curb anti social behaviour but they've taken so much action the place has turned into a virtual ghost town.

Add to that two rather large chunks of real estate within the venue that are simply no longer being utilised or woefully under utitlised, something I would have thought was a cardinal sin in the hospitality business, and I just don't think anyone there has a clue.

Not even our management would be capable of recruiting Chris Walker whose best days, and yes he probably did have a couple of good seasons, have well and truly passed.

It would appear we have made an approach based on an alleged twitter in which he himself states he is deciding between the Eels, Titans and Panthers.

Unbelieveable really, especially when you consider there was probably half or dozen or more quality outside backs from the ranks of the NYC who we should have been actively pursuing not a 31 year has been. Alas, other clubs with proper recruitment strategies in place have boosted there playing rosters for 2011 by doing exactly what we should have done.

I will always support this club as I have done now for over forty years but I must confess to feeling let down by the club and it's management and all supporters have a right to feel similarly let down.

I hate bagging players, coaches and management I really do, but on the back of a successful season in 2010 this off season is proving the most frustrating in my time as a supporter of this club.

Yes I posted in another thread. After the home semi Dominques and another bar were shut leaving just 2 bars running with 45 mins lines just crazy.

Before the board elections. I have meetings with a few of the unsuccessful candiates ab out using the whole club. Eg use 1 bar for a classic dj. Uni bar in Minx etc. Rock band in Evans etc. These days a link on facebook the the uni's facebook and advertising done. Only these dinosaurs in charge have no idea.

Why leave Minx vacant?? just up the security and kick the dropkicks out and get that club pumping. Dropkicks the lot of them
