Before the board elections. I have meetings with a few of the unsuccessful candiates ab out using the whole club. Eg use 1 bar for a classic dj. Uni bar in Minx etc. Rock band in Evans etc. These days a link on facebook the the uni's facebook and advertising done. Only these dinosaurs in charge have no idea.

There lies the big problem. The Current Board is not up to date with the latest ways of operating. Besides Brandy they are in in their 60's and 70's FFS! I get so frustrated talking about this topic but at the end of the day it all starts with the Board. A Board that has simply been there way too long!

I am with you sadly. I am 28 and sadly won't get elected being so young

I haven't been to Panthers in a while because I moved out of the area, but the licenced part of the club has pretty much always been run poorly from my point of view at least. But then I don't have much experience in running a club.

I haven't been to Panthers for many years.

So the only point that I can think of is if anyone is aware, clubs are run much differently then what we are used to from years ago.

These days there are more people in clubs that don't seem to handle their drink,or don't responsively drink to a degree were management simply don't have a choice and restrict themselves by reducing the number of bars so as to stop binge drinking or as a consequence ask someone who is full as a boot to leave the club.

Panthers, like so many other clubs, have a responsibility to prevent customers that want to get themselves blind drunk, and the ones that they have to look after that just want to have a good time and NOT get so drunk.

Interesting last couple of days with confirmation of what the makeup of our squad will be in 2011. There were plenty or rumours, innuendo and snippets in newspapers and forums.

Honestly, I do not know what to make of our new recruits, how can anybody really consider they come from the ranks of the unwanted, Queensland Cup, Jim Beam Cup and now apparently from the ESL. No method to the madness from what I can see but alas we have what we have and can only look forward to the new season in 2011 with the same optimism we do each and every new season.

The thing that annoys me is all these signings were correctly picked elsewhere yet no confirmation from high up. These new signings seem poor but in the bunch surely they must have someone decent

I think we have to now accept we have our squad for season 2011 and while again there are surely question marks about our recruitment and retention there is nothing we can do about it.

We simply have to look forward to the new season with optimism as we always do and hope we enjoy a good season.

I always have fun bagging our coach and management when we lose, so I don't really mind. It will be good if we do well, but give me a great opportunity to ventilate if we lose.

Does this mean I have to endure yet another season of negativity while trying to watch the footy at CUA.

By the way we nearly lost our beloved seats, only secured them on the last day of cut off?

You are there my friend, even thou you never ring me in the off season.

Since he got his big promotion at work he doesn't want to know me know.

My paceway sources tell me Fibroman, Milkman, Wallo and Pascoe have been carving me up bigtime. I actually thought my ears burning was tinitis but no it is Fibroman and his cronies giving it to me.

Not even so much as an E Xmas Card from Fibroman to Kilkenny. Nothing. I've been wiped.

I have tried. Offer to smoke the peace pipe by a trip to Melbourne for the Ashes Test at the MCG but no nothing. Was even prepared to spot him for the flights on the missus Jetstar Mastercard but also Kilkenny has been wiped.

Just curious, has anyone heard anything about how the club intends to handle the coaching situation? With Elliotts contract being up are they planning to wait and see how the side performs in the early rounds before re-signing him? Or is there a feeling after five years his time might be up regardless of how well the team does or doesn't perform?

Well last time he was re-signed really early into the season. Given he had the squad he wanted last year & got us to 2nd. I would think he won't cop the arse. The spanner in the works maybe Georgallis has served his apprenticeship & be up for the top job. Or as Griffo said Noble or someone else is on his way. Not that he will get sacked but may miss his family & want out. He speaks well & is actually entertaining so maybe a Commentating job if he wants out

I want him sacked regardless of what happens in 2011. Despite finishing second I thought we still played well below out potential for most of 2010 and showed the same slide in the business end of the season that we had in previous years.

Although my biggest issue with him is the way he plays favorites... and it seems to be former Raiders that benefit from it. Adrian Purtell shouldn't have been in first grade from well before the halfway point of the season. I could understand him getting a shot, but he was a complete failure and deserved to be dropped. Matt Elliott stuck with him and after him constantly costing us games decided to move him to the wing rather then drop him. Even once he finally admitted there were 5 fit backs better then him, he just moved him into the forwards despite him being arguably the weakest player in our backline.

Murraybob is a vegetarian and only eats salads.

I have a week off from 15th January we'll have to catch up so I can hear first hand about the big promotion instead of on the grapevine.

A little birdy told me Pascoe & Wallo had a big win at the Paceway but you weren't part of it. Obviously your luck hasn't changed.
