No sour grapes because we were terrible for 50 minutes

But some shocking refs calls gave us absolutely no chance, that knock on by their big winger in scoring and the metre forward pass the tackle before someone else scored killed us.

I don't think this team is good enough to overcome really bad calls just yet.

Of course injuries didn't help either but for mine Lawrence and lulia are not up to first grade standard and it really showed once teddy went off. Pat Richards was poor today though I think he deserves a few more chances just yet.

Lawrence needs to go. He has lost his speed and defensively is dreadful. Simona to come back in and give the monster Fijian kid on the wing in NSW Cup a crack if Simona isn't fit. Farah was on one leg today. Losing Tedesco killed us. Should have been on report was a blatant knee to the head was never going to be pretty when you lead with the knees was nothing said. Some dreadful calls. For the video ref to award the try to Vatuvei he should be given life he knocked on twice if you look. In saying that we gave up in the end. Which is a concern.

As I said elsewhere, Chechin deserves most of the blame for the inept officiating as the senior ref. He is incompetent but not biased. Fear not, he will give some truly perplexing decisions in our favour later in the year. In a lot of respects he reminds me of Mogsheen Jadwat - not vindictive or officious, just frighteningly arbitrary in his decision-making.

Lawrence was a victim of Tedescos injury, as he was forced to defend on the wing & try to protect Brooks on his inside. Lulia wasn't out of position & he was woeful. Woods moves faster than him by a considerable amount

Lawrence is only marginally better than Lulia. Neither has any attacking prowess but Lawrence is at least a strong front-on defender.

Lawrences career is a Greek f**king tragedy.

Can't afford to carry him on anything more then minimum wage if at all

Simona and Nofouluma. Problem solved.
Nofo is a centre playing on the wing anyway.

I would persist with Korobiete. I believe he will come good sooner than later.
Rewards are massive if he does.

Lulia has been sound. Obviously not a match winner.

Simona into the centres and we are good. Lawrence is a pretty major concern but I still reckon give him some more time. Lulia & Lawrence both seem to be simply not quick enough. You can also add Richards to the too slow category. When we are firing and if he defends well on the wing he is fine but only because his overall kicking game is as good as it gets.

I would persist with Korobiete. I believe he will come good sooner than later.

I agree. Koro onto one wing and Simona and Nofolouma in the centres gives us options in attack. I'm not sure I'd do this just yet but we should be working on Koro.

If we had to rest Simona a week then u may as well rule out Teddy for next week . What a stupid rule :(

Lulia and Lawrence offer nothing in attack, they are plodders, when Tedd went off the only back that looked capable of threatening was Nofo.To me that is a worry, we need more attacking options, maybe Austin,T and Simona come in to provide those options.

I wouldn't read too much into today...momentum is everything so when you get that many bad calls what chance have you got ..i'm pretty sure Tiges only had one possesion in the time the Warriors scored their first 20 points...add to that losing 3 players (having only one player on the bench for the last 20 minutes) a win would have been a miracle..in fact impossible..down to 14 men after the rigours of the last 2 weeks was just too much

Koro is defensively inept but offers something in attack so if Nofo can play centre - and I am not sure if he has any background there - then I agree its an option. I would even consider Austin in the centres to get rid of Lawrence and Lulia.

Reddy wasnt a world beater but he is head and shoulders above Lawrence , even Ayshford is better. I think we gambled on Chris coming good and pushed out the wrong ones.
Altho we have some options , we are definitely weak in centres for back up.

Koro, Noa, Simona and Pat seem like the best backline we could have. Lawrence isn't at the grade anymore. Its unfortunate but we seem to be struggling over the one reason to keep him in the team than the 5-6 reasons he shouldnt be in the team. Brooks showed his defensive liability again yesterday and losing the damn 2nd rower defender beside him in games is just making it a nightmare. We were back to shirt grabbing yesterday, whixh in the end came down to tiredness due to a non existant bench. And every play just seemed to go against us.

The NSW Cup review from yesterday - my highlights.

Wests Tigers NSW Cup squad have pulled off one of the most improbable comeback victories over the New Zealand Warriors with a last-gasp 32-26 win at Westpac Stadium.

The visitors scored three tries in the final seven minutes — including one after the siren to Blake Austin — to comeback from 26-16 down for the most unlikely of wins.

The match started in perfect fashion for the Wests Tigers, with Austin’s kickoff going dead in goal and forcing a repeat set for the visitors.

And after earning another repeat set through a well-weighted grubber from Nathan Waters, it would be the visitors who crossed first through Austin.

The five-eighth took on the line and burst through to plant the ball down for his sixth try of the year and give Wests Tigers a 4-0 lead.

His sideline conversion was wide in very windy conditions.

Carlos Tuimavave hit back for the Warriors in the ninth minute after burrowing over close to the line. The fullback appeared to both lose the ball and struggle to put it down but the referee ruled in favour of the hosts to level the match at 4-4.

After picking up a kick from the Warriors in his own end, dominant winger Taqele Naiyaravoro crossed for another spectacular try after beating two players and then brushing away from Tuimavave to plant the ball down in the corner.

Austin’s sideline conversion was again blown wide to leave the score at 8-4.

The hosts then hit the lead in the 28th minute when Abraham Papalii crossed for a simple try close to the line after some miscommunication in defence.

That allowed Tuimoala Lolohea to give the hosts a 10-8 lead.

When David Fusitua crossed in the 33rd minute in the right corner following a sharp back-line move, the Warriors had extended their lead to 14-8, which is how the score would read at half-time. Austin threatened to reduce the gap on the siren, but his final pass to Kurtis Rowe just ran into touch to end the half.

It was the hosts who started the stronger in the second half following a wave of penalties and possession, and they eventually crossed through Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

Lolohea made no mistake with the simple conversion to extend the Warriors’ lead to 20-8 just after half-time, but the lead was short lived.

A strong run from Joel Luani won a repeat set for the hosts, and it was Setefano Taukafa who hit back for the visitors after burrowing over from dummy half.

Austin’s conversion was wide, leaving the score at 20-12.

The Warriors restored the lead soon after, though, when Dominique Peyroux ran on to another short ball close to the line. Rowe did his best to hold the centre up, but he simply had too much power and planted the ball down next to the posts.

Lolohea converted to blow the score out beyond two tries.

It took a linebreak from front-rower Nathan Brown to get the Wests Tigers back into the match in the 61st minute. The prop found winger Jy Hitchcox on the inside, before Austin shifted the ball wide to Taukafa on the following play who acrobatically managed to plant the ball down in the corner despite heavy attention from the defence.

Austin missed another tough conversion to leave the score at 26-16.

The score seemed destined to be a Warriors victory, but it was clear that nobody told the Wests Tigers. Another barnstorming run from Naiyaravoro — beating four defenders down the sideline — reduced the gap to 26-20 before a try to Kurtis Rowe in the 78th minute gave the visitors a chance at leveling the scores.

Austin nailed his first conversion of the day to lock the scores at 26-26.

What would follow was utter madness.

Austin missed a field goal attempt with 45 seconds to go before an improbable one-on-one strip by Naiyavoro gave the visitors one last chance at victory.

Waters made a linebreak and a quick play the ball before Austin stepped through four defenders on the siren to plant the ball down and give the Wests Tigers one of the most incredible comeback victories seen this season.

The visitors had scored three tries in seven minutes to win it and, in doing so, consolidated their top-four position in the VB NSW Cup competition.

So if for example Tedesco has to miss a game is the team better off replacing him with a fullback in Rowe and leaving Richards on the wing?

Is Naiyaravoro, the better Fijian option for a wing spot?

T is terrible for 60 minutes of a game at the moment.

Has lost first step acceleration from last year.

Won't be confident on his ankle for months
