No team has ever won the premiership after conceding 50pts in a regular season match

Don't get your point.
For example, have a look at Melbourne's roster. Half their team debuted for Storm. Nearly all the rest were unwanted or second string at their previous club. Addo-Carr was on a pittance at the Tigers, Finucane was a bench player at the Dogs and the list goes on and on. It's nothing to do with the cap and everything to do with developing the players you have.

It’s easier for sht run clubs to blame the cap. Sharks have shown last few years that it’s not all about the money and eels have shown doesn’t matter how much you spend if your poorly run.

Bullshit. The cap is working. My club can pull off a win against the storm with pure guts and determination. Storm then recover to smack the guts out of your mob. Your mob now need to recover and show what they are made of. This is football. It’s man on man. It’s player attitude that matters. Your blokes had no attitude tonight. The storm were magnificent!

It's sport so yes, upsets can & do happen. Some teams will get their times in the sun.

But some teams can buy a sunbed & consistently hold onto outstanding squads because they have more money to pay them- Storm & Rorters chief among them.

Why is why I applaud the current Eels management in being responsible for what they offer Clint Gutherson, instead of bowing to public & media pressure.

He’s a pretty good player but nowhere near a great player & shouldn’t be overpaid.

Eventually the Eels will come good but overpaying fan favourites is not the way to do. Making tough, smart decisions is.

Yep, and again you see the sht clubs throw stupid money at avg players for long contracts that burns them, where as the well run clubs are quite happy to let good players go if they want overs. How many good players have the roosters and storm let go over last three years? Plenty but they hold on to the real stars and then have great systems to Bring the next avg to good player through. When you consider the clubs playing catch up, eels, panthers, dragons etc and the jnr bases and LC funding they have at their disposal, you quickly realise how badly run they must be.

That’s why David smith had to go. He was big on accountability and big on taking on the afl for sporting supremacy here.
The arl blinked and he was gone. That allowed the Sydney clubs in particular to thrive in their mediocrity in a diminishing market.

Dave Smith was our last best hope to catch up to afl, sadly the game will never change and will always remain a big fish in a small pond. Too much self interest, croniesm, lack of leadership and conflicted interests.

On the plus side it remains strong and sound in its heartlands and has high value to tv still so isnt going anywhere thankfully.

We are stagnant (or more accurately dormant as I believe we have so much more potential) and will remain so, it’s in our culture.

Agree with most of that sadly

Wtf the roosters go on a buying spree then go to the top, followed by a exodus of players and a drop to the bottom before a rebuy/rebuild hardly consistent

The way Parra defended after Sivo's binning, Canterbury or Gold Coast would've put 50 on them!
