No Test for Sydney

I see the ARL and NZRL have agreed to play next years test in Brisbane. Not surprising given the Sydney response to the Tri Nations. Good job the WC is here in 2008 (or at least that is what we are led to believe but whatever you do don't mention it to the media!) or it would be a very long time till Sydney gets another test match.

Would've been good to host it in Melbourne but Brisbane is the next best option.

I just don't understand what's wrong with the crowds in Sydney. Is it bad transport? Is it lack of caring? What's actually wrong?

It's not giving a f**k about a side that contains none of the players i suppoert every week for me. I couldn't give a flying if oz lost every match so long as my club does well. Club before country every day of the week

The high amount of Foxtel subscribers in Sydney make it easier to watch it on TV than try and fight your way through Moore Park to get to Aussie Stadium.

it's our sh*tty lil club teams that make the game what it is today and probably the reason why you watch it.

No Test for Sydney? Big deal. Zero follow up on a fantastic season of progress in Melbourne. Shame.

Wrong...

The test is on free to air and not fox sports.

Lets see, Brisbane has what, 13 top flight League games a year? That is about 2-3 weeks of games in Sydney. Furthermore, if it took 15 minutes to get across town, then I am sure it would not be a problem.

Why don't you tally up the total League crowds in Sydney vs Brisbane. You can also use the SOO and Test matches into that total.

As long as the Sydney people that don't go to test matches don't complain (Sydney's population - 30K), there's no problem.

Bad decision. Nothing against Brisbane, but it's an extra match they just don't need (given they're already getting two Origin games) and a match that would do the game a lot more good if played elsewhere - ie. Melbourne or even Perth. It's a lost opportunity.

Leigh.
