I heard one story of country player, who was in/out of the Steelers squad over a few years being called into the Steelers side due to injuries around the time the “war” started and picking up $300k deal over 3 years. Pretty big money in the mid 90’s...
I remember some of the salaries reported from the time. McCracken was our highest paid player and one of the highest in the game, on $650k. The top edge players wouldn't be on much more than that now, 25 years later.

Pay, Dymock and Smith were all on slightly less at $600k.

Gee the dogs are starting to look like the “old” eels.......

Those bloody boards hoping for short term results.....
Long term plans won't get anyone re-elected. Instead they will get you ridiculed.

I'm amazed Brad Arthur is still at the club given the wooden spoon and the six years without a finals win all 'proved' he couldn't coach.

Do any Wests Tigers (or Parra / Dogs) players live in those areas? And do they have any away games in Qld coming up?

Bullpoop.

McCraken was on $1.2M
Pay $1.1M
Dymock $1.05M
and Smith $20 plus a pack of Winfield Blues

Probably of all the bottom sides they have one of the better rosters and should be going better (yeah some injuries but all sides are getting them).

Reckon it’s a good roster for Bennett to work some magic with

Ehh.... they’ve got Taumolololololo and Morgan couple years back was in crazy form. Holmes is good but they’ve overpaid for him. Other than that and some exciting youngsters, they’re very ploddy. They can be ploddy when they get to run at Chris Sandow for 20 minutes, but he isn’t playing anymore

Plus they McLean, Mcguire, Hess, Cooper in forwards who have either played Origin / Aus rep.

Robson was fairly rated as a young hooker. Plus they have Granville

Clifford is a promising half.

in the backs they also have Marsters, O’Neil / Feldts / drinkwater all fairly solid players.

then add JT, Holmes and Morgan, that’s a pretty decent squad yeah probably not premiership winning but good enough to on the top 8 fringe the tigers/bunnies.

Their back line, halves (without Morgan) and hookers are very average.

Even their forwards besides Lolo are average. McGuire and Cooper are past their best. McLean and Hess are just ok.

The Knights 2019 squad was much better than the current Cowboys squad. In the Origin series last year the Knights had the following players involved:

Pearce
Glasby
Saifiti
Ponga
Klemmer

The Cowboys had McGuire and Morgan (who isn't playing currently). Only Taulmololo is worthy from the rest. So at present they have 2 origin standard players (and McGuire is debateble, he might not even play this year).
