Why do you have to have played ten years for one club to get a testimonial? What if your club doesn't want to re-sign you? Or your wife wants to move closer to family to have help raising the kids? And why do you have to have played rep footy? Aren't the players who play rep footy the least likely to need money? It's almost as if the NRL designed the criteria to allow Thurston and Smith to qualify but almost no one else. Sorry, I realise that's just crazy talk.
