It appears they've got that message loud and clear but now they just need to focus their efforts and make sure that any response is 'right'.

Luckily league fans are completely reasonable and consistent so this should be a walk in the park.

The whole discussion is about whether they made the right response. You were defending their response. Myself and others suggested it was the wrong response. Have you now changed your mind?

There are two steps.

1. To acknowledge and address an issue.
2. To address it in a manner that everyone is happy with.

I am suggesting that they achieved item 1 but failed to achieve item 2 because of the bi-polar nature of league fans.

In fairness, I do believe that simply making it play on is the option that would piss of fewer fans...you can't please everybody, but I do reckon Greenburg does a great job at consistently managing to make decisions that piss off the larger segment rather than the smaller. And not in a "change that needs to be made" way either

Possibly and if I am fair, I think people like yourself and IALB are being reasonable in making such determinations. Problem is that there are so many unreasonable f**k puppets that don't ever want to be pleased and Iook for the worst in every decision. Call it El D syndrome.

I like what the NRL have done. It’s now clear that what happened on the weekend is not on and I doubt you’ll see it again.

I take IALB’s point that if the refs just treat it as play on it will also (eventually) send a message but what Todd has done will be much more effective.
