No matter the outcome of today's knifing, there should be changes to the constitution to stop this continual procession of PM's being offered up as sacrificial lambs.
It's the Coalition's party politics, not the constitution. Even if you could propose to change the constitution, we would need to have a referendum.
Rudd changed they way that leaders can be elected (and knifed) in the labor party so if Shorten is elected you will have the stability that you desire.
If Dutton (or ScoMo) is elected, you will still have Abbott scheming to get back to the top.
Scott Morrison come on down!!!
It’s like a lucky dip atm, or an unlucky one. And these clowns are meant to running the country.
Bunch of deadshit Nuthugging Whooshers!!
Well played Malcom, I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with Duttons minions.Malcolm has done a Frank Underwood on Dutton. Hope it plays out.

Unril someone in labor sees fit to change it again lolIt's the Coalition's party politics, not the constitution. Even if you could propose to change the constitution, we would need to have a referendum.

If mal got the ass i would have doubts he would bother to stay on ... perfectly good opportunities for him elsewhereThe Libs only hold a 1 seat majority. If Dutton wins and Malcolm steps aside, the seat will be unrepresented. Meaning that Dutton can't form Government. General election time in 6 weeks. Labor wins.
ScoMo wins. Malcolm stays on. ScoMo does his best to win an election late next year.

Does it automatically go double dissolution? I'd have thought no. Definitely would if they kept failing to pass bills but simple fix, don't present any until after by-election.The Libs only hold a 1 seat majority. Dutton's a bananabender. Need further clarification?Does it automatically go double dissolution? I'd have thought no. Definitely would if they kept failing to pass bills but simple fix, don't present any until after by-election.
Unless Turnbull, Dutton and/or Abbott leave party then Labor win election whenever, against whoever, because people aren't going to vote for Dutton or Abbott, and voting for Turnbull means one of them is likely to rear their ugly heads to challenge anyway. Same if Morrison or Bishop was leader.
For the good of the country the people in Dutton's & Abbott's electorates should probably vote them out
