Gentlemen I was joking. When I get bored I sometimes like creating controversy. Of course Putin is a narcissist knob. Great leader but even I could be under his conditions. But I do also hate the Clintons.

And Gaz I know you are not racsist mate. I just didn’t realise you would take the bait so quickly. I’m at the age now where I don’t sweat on things I can’t control.

There were plenty of wars in the former Yugoslavia and I didn’t join one but would die for Australia. I can never forget what this country has done for my family and love it more than you merkins would believe.

I wasn't too fussed by the racism comment and certainly wasn't baited.

My serious take on Putin. His sole existence like Xi Jinping is to elevate his own country's status and influence on the world stage at any cost. He will play other leaders off against each other and do whatever he can to drag everyone else down. Both leaders thrive on chaos and disunity in the western world and both have been very effective in recent years in creating that type of environment.

So is Putin a good leader? No doubt he is smart and can yield influence but equally he is not constrained like most other leaders are so it is easier for him to do as he pleases.

Are his intentions honourable? No chance.

I understand why some people think he is a 'man of the people' and also recognise that his country has largely benefited from his leadership, even if the gap between the rich and the poor has increased. That said, anyone who has experienced an improved quality of life has merely done so a by-product of his quest for global dominance. A quest that is ultimately about him.
