private school ABC comedians

Did any actually go to a private school or are you embellishing the narrative ?

When I was a kid I didn't get why that stuff was supposed to be funny. Then as I got older I realised all these private school ABC comedians were taking the piss out of a caricature of the working class. The only time 'punching down' is acceptable, it seems.

Obviously some of them lived in the correct zone for public schools in places like Toorak and Birchgrove but the point stands.

Birchgrove Public School is a haven for spoilt rich kids who tease other kids whose parents drive anything lesser than a Merc/BMW.

There are no high schools in Birchgrove though.

I'm all for taking the piss and grew up well before the castle and Roy and HG. I have other metrics on which I judge things. Also, despite being an old banger I think piss taking is still alive.

Haven't seen it for ages but my first thoughts were you could not show that now days.

It certainly hasn't aged well either.

A lot of old Aussie stuff that was seemingly funny hasn't, tbh. Even the Castle IMO, although it's still a decent movie
