I dont know if anyone knows ... i think they are still having trouble convincing airlines to fly out of "very creek"How many less flights will be from Sydney airport once had very creek opens up? Anyone have any idea?
I would assume they would move about 35% of flight there.

I think there is a resistance because many sydney visitors want to land near the city/coast - not travel 30+ minutes ... but im sure there will be some spread.
Maybe freight will move to eastern creek?
67.5%?Or even 35% more than that?
FFS!67.5%?

Maybe they should put a dedicated transport loop between them. You could just get a flight from Eastern Creek to Mascot.
Shame about the rest of the shitty NSW regional freight line that doesn't connect to the interstate network.WSA will eventually be very well serviced by both commuter and freight rail lines.

It will also be connected well by road. A new motorway (M12) will Iink it directly to the M7.
Yep needs transport ... it needs a fast direct link to the city ... no f**ker wants to go to leppington to get to the city ... and they dont want to be dicking around changing trains with bagsWell most new warehouses are in Erskine park which is a lot closer to the new airport. So yes freight makes sense.
International travels flying in I could understand wanting to land in Sydney. But people living in many parts of NSW would most likely find the Badgery creek far easier to get to. Large area from Blacktown back. Then look at Campbeltown and people coming from Bathurst or Sth coast.
I'd imagine things like long term parking stations would be a lot cheaper.
Once the train line is in you would have a 12min ride to St Mary's followed by a fast train to Sydney. About a 1 hour total journey as opposed to 15mins.
In saying that the fact it would be open 24hrs means plenty of international flights would have no other option but to land here.
It could be 50% of flights
Be great if it ended up #1. The more noise away from mascot the betterIt is a massive project.
I am very curious to know how much it will be used. And how much superior this airport will be compared to Sydney.
They will want to get as much as they can out of it. I can see it being the no 1 airport.
