I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, forgive me if it has....but the sort of people who voted him in are desperate Middle Americans who have been abandoned by both Republican and Democratic governments and who live with the worst poverty in America, the worst unemployment rates in America, the worst drug addiction rates in America, the lowest education levels in America, and so on and so on. The kind of people whose dad and grandad and great grandad worked at the local mill or factory or whatever straight out of highschool and made enough to support their family, own a house and live a life that doesn't exist any more.

Trump promised a return to those days. It's no wonder a huge chunk of Middle America voted for him, and I can't blame them despite my feelings about Trump

The reality is that when you are desperate you will cling on to any sense of hope, regardless of how fleeting it might be. When life is a daily struggle, sometimes posting on Facebook isn't that important.

The people posting on my Facebook feed from this country whinging about him getting in are f**king clueless as to why he was voted in. All they know is that in the past he said he'd grab a female by the pussy and has verbal diarrhoea without a filter. They don't think about the demographic of the US who Bazal pointed out because it doesn't suit their agenda.

Funnily enough the people who are annoying me on Facebook fit the relative demographic that Trump won over.

Sorry but its really hard to take you seriously after you have declared that you vote informal in elections. It's great that you have an opinion and I respect that, however I am flabbergasted that you would then go all the way to an Oz voting booth and write graffiti rather than a legitimate vote.

Problem I have 24hrs on is that he was so "Obama was the worst President in US history" and "Secretary Clinton should be in jail" then now he's all "She done a great job and service to her country and I mean that sincerely" and "I was an honour to meet The President - a great man and leader" WTF ? I thought he was the founder of f**king ISIS ?

Same goes with his "I'm going to build a wall and they'll pay for it" then he goes down to Mexico pre-election and meets with the No.1 and does not mention the wall. WTF ?
