I'm referring to the locking borders comments. If you are having problems with people from outside our borders and then another one does something terrible then people will not feel safe about their country continuing to bring them in and putting them up next door to you.

Crime rates are way down from the 60's, 70's and 80's, yet immigration and an open boarder policy has been growing. Go figure.

"Them" by the way are the same as your grandparents or your partner's grandparents or your boss's in-laws. We all come from migrant stock somewhere down the line. Please remember that not everyone is evil.

Hell yes. In a growing population we have stats that are static or dropping. Sydney's population grew by 1 million merkins in the last 5 years, yet crime incidents are dropping.

You are completely missing my point. I was responding to your specific call to calm down for people commenting on being scared about people from shit countries coming here and being shit.

It's easy from your ivory tower to tell people to calm down but if you are living in a specific part of the city where something is happening you are probably going to be less rational than say someone who lives in a part where certain people aren't moved into because certain people who live there wouldn't have them anywhere near them.......leave them to the areas that no one gives a shit about.

I think its unfair that you label me as some sort of an out of touch elitist. This all started because I said that we should not jump to conclusions about the motive of someone to tried to take his life.

I agree with you that nobody would want to live next door to a criminal. I don't agree however that all refugee families should be pre-judged. They all come from shit countries (that's why they had to leave ) but that does not mean they are all shit people.
