It’s frosted glass.

Gee. What about the noise? Ive got 2 planes of glass double glazed with 6.36mm laminated glass. In a 42 mm solid wood door.I worry about how much sound your letting in unaware of how quiet it could be.

Actually, it’s an issue we are going through at the moment with buying up here. Probably going to go with something cheap and functional rather than a high end house because that’s supposedly what we should do.

If we spend millions on a house, we might as well live in Sydney.

I would max out what banks will give with the 1.95% interest rates. You only live once. Even if you do not reduce your loan as inflation grows a potential 750k debt may seem small in 15yrs. And house prices will continue too grow. Just ask HJ......
Once your bones are old and penis is withered you can then sell up and head for a cheaper spot as the end edges closer. Blast whatever money you have on rsl meals and medicine.

Either way we won’t have a mortgage. I just like the idea of spending some rather than all of what we’ve saved.

Borrow 750k and use all the money you have and just max out hard. When your 55 yld then just sell up.....
I wouldn't spend it just for the sake of it. It is a waste. And there is leftovers heaps of disadvantaged kids that could use your help once your dead so you can give some to them.

Your a successfull and smart person. If you can live well while still paying $500-$600 towards a mortgage on an appreciating asset then why not borrow?
Unless your plan was to take time of work etc....
Maybe treat yourself to a nice car and keep some money for a holiday first. Maybe 100k. Then spend the rest on a super kool house and borrow as much as feel comfortable paying back.

Or if interested in a project. Buy some land. I'll build you a self sustainable off grid cabin os the basis I can use it for 42 days a year. You pay for all the materials I put the thing up. I've always wanted to do this but don't have the money.

I’m a smart successful businessman, plan on retiring at 50 in 8 years time. Sell my inheritance & move far far away from city life.
