True story about a man and a dog (actual man and dog are from Japan). Everyday man would catch a train into the city. No matter what man did, he could not corral the dog in his yard. Religiously, the dog would sit at the train station waiting for his human to come home. Everyone at the shops gets to know the dog and he becomes a fixture at the railway station (think Telopea Station).
Nek minute human gets cancer and dies. The dog waits at the station 24/7 in snow, rain for 10+ years waiting for his guy. The butcher down at the shops gives him sausages to eat and the florist gives him water.
No matter what the family of the guy does to move the dog on, he goes back to the station.
Dog hits his twilight years, still there, and then dies.
Simple plot, but a well crafted movie.
