Man in lockdown eats pie at 10.30pm after already consuming dinner. This could be breaking news these days.

Barrier Reef coral health claims checked
Is the amount of coral on the Great Barrier Reef similar now to during the 1980s?www.canberratimes.com.au
Unfortunately Peter Ridd is seen as a nutter so most other scientists dismiss him. Its a reputation that he has earnt fairly and squarely. While the rest of us have been sitting around moaning about some virus, one of us kept his eye on the ball and has worked wonders. Good job @Gary Gutful
Well it sounds like you've got your hands full. This is no time to be reading a footy forum! Also coral cover is just one measure. Species diversity is also important. The reef is showing signs of recovery since the bleaching events but what is coming back isn't as diverse.
He won the unfair dismissal court case btw. Someone or some organisation backrolled it and they took it to the High Court. IIRC he was sacked by JCU for talking outside his faculty or “area of expertise” after being told not to repeatedly. So an employment dispute, not unlike the Folau one. On the one hand he has freedom of speech. On the other hand, JCU has a huge marine biology / climate science faculty and his motor mouth was making them look like idiots.Unfortunately Peter Ridd is seen as a nutter so most other scientists dismiss him. Shame, because he has done some good work over the years, but sometimes seems fixated on having a fight with other scientists rather than letting his work speak for itself.
He was famously dismissed from JCU a few years back and then took them to court.
Certainly one of the more welcome recoveries from a bleaching event. Also coral cover is just one measure. Species diversity is also important. The reef is showing signs of recovery since the bleaching events but what is coming back isn't as diverse.
