I had a crazy Uncle that was a legend but has since passed. He was a chemical engineer and used to brew his own beer before it was fashionable. Big Guiness and stout fan and could make the most amazing nitro pour beer.

His theory was that commercially brewed beer had preservatives that caused hangovers. He said he never got one when he drunk his own beer.

I take his theory with a grain of salt but thought I'd share.
Low carb beer seems to be the poison that knocks me around the next day. Do they put more preservatives in them? I can drink Stone and Wood all night but a few low carb beers (with the exception of Kirin for some reason) and I’m going to need a nap the next day to nurse a splitting headache.

Edit: According to the official Australian website, Kirin has no preservatives. Well there you go.

Not sure. Low carb beers are hard work if you actually like beer.

I'm the same as well. Sort of. Except with the beer. I've drunk VB all my life (yes, I know, that's sacrilege!) and I still do, especially at pubs on tap. I've tried so many craft type beers and so many of them are pretty crap. They are trying to be too different and fancy I find. I do love a Corona (even after the virus was a thing :) )
I also cheap out with t-shirts from K-Mart/Target, as well as joggers.
I also love my coffee every day yet I am no coffee snob. I mostly get good, and rarely get a bad coffee.
Simply because the coffee culture in this country is so competitive these days.
Brother, buy t shirts from Uniqlo. I’ve been buying from them for years. Even the majority of my business shirts are from them. Their quality is amazing and the price reasonable. My kids thought they’d impress me and buy me an expensive t shirt called Essentials. When I saw what they paid I almost fainted.

Agreed. They taste ordinary and make me feel like shit the next day. The only thing going for it is that I can convince myself it’s sightly less likely to increase the belly. Not worth it if you ask me.

I used to be a massive beer snob. Living in Cairns has tempered that given the lack of variety. James Squire 150 lashes is now my go to.

When I lived in Brisbane I had a brewery a few kms away that my mate from Uni set up. I miss having that available but I feel that my taste buds have changed.

Went for a few big chewy craft beers when we were in Adelaide over New Years and for the first time I could understand why some people think they are a bit much.
Slipstream or Helios??? I went to the later the other day with a mate I don’t drink beer he said there would be something I could drink.

Softcock

I love a beer and Hahn Superdry is my go to for some reason.

Different strokes.

I bought two guitar speakers from USA. Spent about $1,100. Got busy and didn't open them from September
Anyhows boxes come in both looked perfect. Packed in one big box and two individual boxes inside But both speakers had inverted dust caps. I was able to repair them. Trying to work out how they got damaged but in first place as boxes where perfectly fine.

It could end up an unsolved mystery

Isn't salt a preservative?
