There is quite a few rubbish ones around. Hard to understand but the same with takeaways. You would think if that's all you did then you'd be decent at it after a few months.
One of the worse I've had was in Summer Hill. Tried it twice and both times couldn't finish it. Irony is so many locals raved about it.

yeah, I agree, some really are crap, not a big fish and chip person myself

Fish Heads are a restaurant with take away fish and chips at the side so only had fish and chips once and it was pretty decent

Even Doyle's at Watson's Bay is pretty ordinary IMO....

Unless you beat him in a grand slam I don't think it counts. He'd be going at about 60% at best. Just stretching his muscles really.

Fish and chips are overrated. I've had them from FNQ to SA, most places are average at best. The good places change their oil regularly, make a decent batter/crumbed/grilled option, but at the end of the day consistency is their Achilles heel. Traveling Australia is an eye opener when it comes to fish and chip options.
