Does it work with zucchinis?
Does it work with zucchinis?
Ping @Haynzy
Haynzy what's the go with SA power ? If you listen to the Federal LNP or the rants by the conservatives on SkyNews, it's all because the 50% renewable energy target has rendered power production to be unreliable. They were laughing this morning that SA had a blackout because there was no wind.
TBH I take what they say with a grain of salt simply because they all belong to the "coal club".
Has SA committed themselves to renewable too early and gotten the mix wrong ? Or was the super storm and yesterdays 25min blackout just bad luck due to unforeseen circumstances ?
They have a stand by gas power generator that the state energy commission did not give permission to switch on, but of course the govt will not mention that. Its pathetic how they use a circumstance like this for political point scoring.
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/...s/news-story/82f848efbc42455b9d7c4e1487b04fa5State Energy Minister Tom Koutsantonis said last night: “Every South Australian has a right to be angry. We had spare capacity in the SA generation market and the market didn’t turn that generation on.”
“The second unit at Pelican Point (power station) could’ve been turned on last night, it had gas, was ready to go and it wasn’t turned on. The national market isn’t working,” he said.
“We (the State Government) have been taking advice from the market operator and others but after last night we have to reassess. We will do what’s necessary to make sure SA has sufficient generation,” Mr Koutsantonis said.
“It’s my understanding that AEMO (Australian Energy Market Operator) was made aware more generation was available and chose not to turn that generation on. Serious questions have to be asked about why we had generation available that wasn’t used.”
A spokesman for ENGIE, which runs the Pelican Point power station, said that under the current rules of the National Electricity Market, it can not be used unless directed by the market operator.
Forty effn five here on Saturday... We are talking mercury levels. 45 degrees. I have no air con in this stinking unit.
I could literally bake myself to death. Would anyone like to swap apartments for the weekend? I'll throw in a tin of spam to any of you peasants.
Does it work with zucchinis?
Instead they decided to load shed, ie: turn off power to thousands of homes for 45 minutes.
No one had given any explanation as to why.
Cant help but think our pollies didn't want it turned on so they can bag the shit out of renewable energy while trying to sell us on the idea of clean coal, which is not really clean.
Just like you and Maroubrahmmm are they?
They are green and CSB shaped?Just like you and Maroubra
Yeah I smell a rat.
They are green and CSB shaped?
Possibly. But I meant that cucumbers and zucchinis are as alike as the MEsThey are green and CSB shaped?
This episode is on foxtel tonight
I'm assuming they are talking about blacking out power because Sydney summers have never been hot before??
Because they are predicting an abnormally large amount of power use at peak times (i.e. as every bastard turns on their air con).....abnormal even for a hot summer. They've got a fair bit of slack though, so I doubt they'll need to.
