Imagine being so f**king rich. So the owners of Winx regret ever letting her go, cos they miss her. So they were hell bent on getting the foal, no matter the cost. They were bidding against a billionaire and had to pay $10m double the previous record for any before. They all cry and say on the news last night that they hope that she gets to race, but if she doesn’t that’s OK it will good to just have her home.

Littleproud is full of criticism, mostly why didn't the government do this earlier.

Because this problem is only a recent one ? Hmmm

Would have been nice if Laura from Sky News said "But what did you f**king do, David ?"

Boomer wealth > transfer of wealth. There are predictions on what will happen to the $$$ that us boomers will pass on to Gen X and beyond. Will they spend it wisely or continue to go on trips to Bali?

I’ve never been to BAli and never will 😛
Me neither, I’d rather spend a week in Penrith. But I digress. I’m interested to see what happens to the inherited boomer wealth over the next 10 years considering we’re going to drop like flies soon enough.

There is an American Geopolitics specialists, Peter Zeihan, who says the world is now f**ked for a few reasons, but one of those is that the Boomers have been working away and been able to have all their capital in the market, but now they want to retire and take all their money out of the market, which is going to cause a shortage in the employment numbers and the supply of capital...He expects inflation to remain high as it is now for a decade.

There are a few other reason he says we're f**ked, but that is just one. This is not necessarily Australia specific view though.

Surely the boomers will be spending their money
Yes, but they have previously had their money invested in the markets, through shares, property, superannuation or equivalents, etc. and now they're going to pull it out and spend it. So apparently the rest of the world doesn't have access to that capital being in the markets any more,

Because it’ll be sitting in very low risk assets instead? I guess it makes sense.

What do you think made you wealthy?
GEN X working for boomers and paying overs for stuff you own and sell the them.
It's actually very funny

It's sad that people without money or wealthbinside their family (Parents/Grandparents) now are just about analed. Unless they end up in the top 5% of earners they will basically work their existence to maybe own a house in the suburbs.

I have nothing against boomers. They did not ask for this to happen. They just went about their lives and followed the script and it kind of worked out for the majority of them.
But I feel sorry for people who where led to beleive if they study They'll get a good paying job and everything will work out. Many got analed.
If you stay single or marry someone on a low income you are probably not going to ever own a home. The great Australian dream is not a reality for many. So we can sit and say oh young kids don't want to work anymore but they kind of have less incentive

Geez the current generation are a bunch of sooks and lazy losers.

My Grandfather came over to Australia after WW2 without a cent to his name, worked 4 jobs a week, got married, had kids, bought a house and provided.

My father fought in Vietnam. Came home and had to deal with it himself, again worked numerous jobs a week, met a woman, got married, bought a house and raised a family.

The current generation want it all handed to them on a plate.

Harden Up and go out and work your way to prosperity like your forefathers had to.

The current weak soft generation are all an embarrassment.

If you haven't wealth in family nowdays there is not a whole lot of chance you can achieve what people could in the 60s. I can't imagine someone raising a family on a single income working in a factory could afford an acreage in Western Sydney and a holiday home on the Sth coast. It wouldn't matter how hard you worked it ain't happening.
So that's the situation we have currently.
