So because it was recorded later it must have been made up?

Pretty much, yeah. Sorry. Corinthians mentions it in passing. The oldest gospel doesn't mention him appearing after his resurrection, that was added to later gospels but Mark makes no mention of it. The women find an empty tomb, presume for some reason that the bloke who tells them he has risen is telling the truth. That's it, story over. More than likely the other Gospels embellished Mark's account to reinforce his supposed holiness. It's a story designed to portray him as holier than normal.

You don't reckon a bloke coming back from the dead would create a stir? It doesn't make sense that there is no mention of it in contemporary texts at the time. It's nonsense to think that it wouldn't be recorded, honestly.

Mark also doesn't mention anything about a virgin birth IIRC.

None of this means that he didn't exist. There is lots of evidence that he did, the same way Muhammed did. But he was a bloke who wanted to change the world.

Because he didn't deal with the Romans. He went straight to North America: https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm?lang=eng

So did Jesus. Also Christ wasn't a war mongering paedophile like the false prophet. Christ performed many miracles, you will say it's bullshit. I think it's real. He was revered for the 33 years whilst he was on Earth and in this modern world, many people smarter than you and I still believe in him and his teachings.

John 14:6

"I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Looking at the last two thousand years, it's pretty fair to say he created a stir. IMO it could only be supernatural forces that made such a confusing and haphazard story as influential as it has been. It was a genuine black swan event.

So I suppose the gods that have been around even longer are even more powerful supernatural forces, correct? After all, if one must be supernatural because of it's influence, the rest must be too

Are you trying to trip me up with some dumb Twitteresque pop-theology argument? I believe all manifestations of deity have had some truth behind them. Ideas don't come from nowhere, especially when they are capable of motivating large numbers of people.

No it was a genuine question. I find it immensely stupid when people accept that their god and all his or her ridiculous deeds are fact with nothing but hearsay written by men with agendas as "proof" but claim that exactly the same kind of thing with a different main character is false and will damn someone to hell or whatever.

Atheists simply believe in one less god than most. Well, apart from polytheists, I suppose.

Yeh, there's actually a statue of a Mulloway in the Temple Church
Is that why they have those fish stickers?

I remember sticking one of those on the rear window of my family's Kingswood, when I was about seven, with my Dad . It was only when I'd stuck it down he told me it was upside down. Not in a pissed off way, he could've stopped me.

Yet you entertain the idea that I would share that belief? Thanks for f**king nothing.

Except every religion has its pantheon of 'gods'. Dozens of them are mentioned in the Bible. Their existence isn't denied, just their authority.
