Anyway I watched Magda the other day on the Project. She is the only one that had a poiint which for mine was still hard to believe.

She reckons that a woman was not allowed to be with her partner when she had her last moments and dying of cancer because she was not considered family or a spouse. Had to stand outside the room and listen to her partner's last breaths. I find that hard to believe. Which Dr or nurse would do that?

If it did happen, obviously that shit is not on.

Seriously Gaz who in their right mind wouldn't let that poor woman in the room to be with her partner? Yet we are expected to believe it and the "Yes" voters run with it.

This is why the politics of the "Yes" vote annoys me. That idiot Christopher Pyne this morning said that there will be guarantees of religious exemptions. I've seen none. Will it be something that is binding and explained with a "Yes Vote?" or are we going to rely on another law that may change at a stroke of a pen? I would have no problem in voting "Yes" if I was assured the religious exemption would always stay intact and that marriage equality would be null and void if they ever tried to change the religious exemption.

I find the politics of the no vote equally stupid. Examples include:

1. Someone suggesting they will vote no out of spite.

2. Someone suggesting that one person's views (I.e their gay nephew) represent the majority.

3. Some incoherent shit about Waleed Aly having values that are inconsistent with his faith (something that millions of religious people are guilty of).

The whole debate on both sides is f**ken embarrassing and a massive distraction from the more important issues in our country.

Its what the vast majority want. Some of those voting no are likely doing it because of the politics around the yes vote and would get over it pretty quickly if it happened. Delboy's Gay spokesperson nephew probably wouldn't mind (even if he never gets married).

Whatever residual amount of people that are left over well and truly represent the minority. They can suck it up and if they don't like it they can move to Russia.
