FYI, it's still irrelevant.

Has it been changed?

No.

Until it is, your post is meaningless.
Bullshit. The fact that it can be changed isn't affected by whether or not it has been changed.

You're talking big like the constitution is this unwavering source of all truth, which it isn't. it's a living document that of course can be changed, and should be changed once deemed necessary by the people.

As far as my post being "meaningless", that's horseshit too. Besides, who the f*ck do you think you are to determine what is and isn't meaningless, especially considering your post history.

Bullshit. Of course it's relevant.

Go ask Law.com about the the Doctrine of Stare Decisis and then ask her about AU High Court decisions and if they have reflected on human rights matters in the EU when developing and evolving the understanding of the Constitution.

So now we have established that it is relevant,

Still not relevant. What will be relevant is what constitutes a religion, the details of which are NOT covered by the French Constitution.

COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA CONSTITUTION ACT - SECT 116
Commonwealth not to legislate in respect of religion
The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth.

As I said earlier, the interpretation of the above is all that matters. Does the burqa constitute Islam?

As I said earlier, the claim used to (falsely) oppose statements that the burqa is forced upon women (namely, that it is a choice) works against any claims that it IS inherent within Islam. Does it, however, completely negate it? That is the only question that matters, as it would relate to the the free exercise of religion.

Bullshit. The fact that it can be changed isn't affected by whether or not it has been changed.

You're talking big like the constitution is this unwavering source of all truth, which it isn't. it's a living document that of course can be changed, and should be changed once deemed necessary by the people.

As the Constitution stands at any given moment, it IS the unwavering source of truth. So, how the Constitution currently stands is all that matters until it is changed. At present, it has express rights regarding religion, so the only thing that matters is how that is to be interpreted.

What might happen in the future if we theoretically changed the Constitution is irrelevant.

Just like your post.

As far as my post being "meaningless", that's horseshit too. Besides, who the f*ck do you think you are to determine what is and isn't meaningless, especially considering your post history.

Obviously, I'm the guy who understands reality while you're the guy who lives in fairy feelings land.

Once again, your post is meaningless. Just because your feelings make you want to be relevant doesn't mean you are.

Except, has he failed to address the interaction between (British) common law and our constitution, specifically in matters where our constitution falls silent?

Attached is a solid analysis of the Burqa ban proposition by a Law Academic . It studies the position from both sides and pulls apart the history, legal process and the various arguments used by those in favour of a ban.

Good read if you CBF'd.

Executive Summary: Storm in a tea cup. Ban face coverings in banks etc if you must.
