He seems nice.

So the basis of the allegations are:

Tate employed as many as 75 women in a webcam business; some have accused him of imprisoning them and forcing them to perform sex work.

Confucius say, If you’re going to live your life with your chin out, don’t come whining when people take swing at it.

It all seems a bit odd to me .... surely he knew he would get stitched up by the BBC, nothing surer. He must have thought so to film it himself but not tell them he was (hidden camera?).

Another distraction aimed at getting everyone arguing?

To be fair, the BBC prides itself on journalistic integrity. They have been exposed here.

He's been in in prison without charge for 6 months because over there (Romania) they have a system where they can take someones liberty away on a standard less than the balance of probabilities.
The four were arrested in December and held in custody until they were released to house arrest in March.

Dumb comment.

Just because there are other more apparent important injustices, doesn't make this injustice ok.
What is the injustice exactly ? That a TV program ran an interview and edited it in a manner that made him look like a merkin ? Well that's every day of the week for some broadcasters.

Meanwhile the british / american set himself up in in the sex worker business in Romania for his own reasons. Why Romania ? The mind boggles, however the ease of exploitation of young women living in borderline poverty comes to mind. Anyway it seems he has run foul of the authorities.

Cancelled some say ? Sounds like he made his bed so has to sleep in it. He is hardly Julian Assange here.

He was jailed without being charged. It is quite clear he was jailed because of his influence and some indirect pressure coming from the UK and States.

Webcam (sex worker business) is not illegal, just because you believe it to be exploitation or immoral does not make it illegal. Imagine women having to be accountable for their own decisions ffs. Tate has not been involved in the Webcam business for over 5 years now.

We praise OnlyFans chicks as "Boss Bitches" and yet Tate running a profitable webcam business is exploitation??

Also his webcam business was set up originally in the UK, not Romania.

But he has been charged quite some time ago and released on bail - house arrest..

The prosecution unit of Romania’s directorate for investigating organised crime and terrorism (DIICOT) notified the Tate brothers on Tuesday that the human trafficking charge had changed to trafficking in continued form, a DIICOT spokesperson said. Under Romanian law, trafficking of adults carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

One more victim had been added to the case, which started out with six women, the spokesperson said.

No he has not been charged yet.

That exert apart from the URL does not mention anything about being charged.

Have you got any other evidence to suggest he has been charged?

In Romania they are allowed to Lock you up without any charges laid for up to 90 days.

31 Mar 2023 — Neither Tate nor his alleged co-conspirators have been formally charged

Divisive influencer Andrew Tate and brother to be released ...NBC Newshttps://www.nbcnews.com › news › world › controver...

The link and quotes from the article you shared were pending charges. They have not been formally charged with anything this year.

They have previously been charged (2 years ago) however all charges were previously dropped.

Also

"However, no charges have been brought against the brothers or the two Romanian associates who were arrested alongside them."

OK so even though the Tate Bros used the words "charged", let's assume that the Romanians are investigating crimes and that they propose to lay charges. This is the system that they have.

The reason why European countries like Romania have the legislative powers to detain perps for extended periods of time (compared to what we would think is acceptable) is because in the EU merkins with significant $$ means can disappear across soft borders into countries with no extradition treaties in the blink of an eye. So, they are held under house arrest until they investigation is completed.

Are the Tate Bros being treated differently in Romania compared to other suspects ? It appears not. There are also a bunch of perps being detained in other human trafficking cases.

Of course and thats exactly why they have this process. It is the risk you take when living in a country like Romania.

However, love them or hate them they deserve to be treated the same way as any other human on this planet, when they have not yet been found guilty of any criminal offences. Of course if they are guilty, throw the book at them.

Btw both Brothers have no recorded criminal convictions in any country.

Well you nailed it. If you choose to visit, live or run a business from a different country, then you agree to abide by the laws of that country. No point crowing about injustice.

For what it's worth, my son's mate (let's call him Stew) was in Japan last year visiting his brother who is engaged to a Japanese girl. The brother was sent, but was intercepted, a package with a joint in it from Australia. It was sent by a loose unit mate. It was never requested or expected.

The brother (addressee on the box) was arrested.

Stew was arrested at his hotel room 40km away because of the link / suspicion with his older brother.

In Japan they also have detainee laws.

Stew was in jail last year for 3 weeks, until the charges were dropped.

Under Japanese law, persons suspected of a crime can be detained for 23 days without charge. The length of detention, up to the maximum period, is at the discretion of the public prosecutor and subject to the approval of local courts.
